Star Ocean 4 PS3 Confirmed: Xbox Betrayed, Sold, Lost!

this game made me sleepy, seriously. very boring imo... its nothing compare to the old star ocean games.

Anon 06:34 knows what he's talking about. SO2 and SO1 I always enjoyed, and SO3 could have been worse.

But this plot was about as well thought out as a 1980's Saturday morning cartoon. I cringed more than once on just about every cut-scene and private action. There were still some pulpy bits that one can enjoy. Planet Roak, for instance, settled into feeling like a real game for a short while (even if the vibe was totally ruined by the chicken-wings fail character and emo hero). With all the catgirls it was hard not to like the atmosphere. And Meracle's intro planet was pretty fun, though that didn't last long did it. The ending twists I did enjoy.

Nevertheless, the script was consistently trite, and the voice actors say all their lines like they're verbally agreeing with the audience that things couldn't be any less interesting (except Welch and Faize; they did very good with what they were given).

I seriously doubt the original Japanese voices could make a game this dull any better. Aside from the battle system. I only ended up finishing the game because the battle system got so addicting.

Region Free-ness makes importing an option for the EU PS3 owners though.

Hey Now!!! The Xbox 360 is the only console where you get first access to exclusive betas such as Ninja Gaiden II, Tales of Vesperia and Star Ocean: The Last Hope! Lets not be mean.

That's still only 3 games. Since it gets better ports of stuff like orange box, virtua fighter (had online mode) and most multi plat titles really there's not much to worry about. They'll probably get NG2 black eventually anyway.

TOV PS3 is looking ace but I don't think SO4 PS3 will add much.

But calling full games beta's makes you look dumb. Sure your in a site full of idiots but it still makes you look like an idiot regardless.

eng dub only for SO4 was bad enough to avoid playing the game.

if one does come out its seems pretty unlikely it'll be exclusive to either at this point. You forget Itagaki doesn't run Team Ninja anymore and Hayashi's hasn't really shown himself to be much of a 360 fanboy.

3 games plus every other japanese exclusive the 360 had other than the ones MS specifically funded (thats is stuff like Mistwalker's stuff, since Mistwalker owes their existance to MS's funding, and Infinite Undiscovery, which was actually a MS Game Studios titles given to Tri-ace to dev). Ah, i guess there's also Last Remnant (which Wada canned because it sold so poorly on the 360 that he felt a PS3 release wouldn't even recoup costs). I should note btw, before someone brings them up, that Softmax (the company behind Magna Carta) and Blueside (behind KUF) are korean, and i did say japanese. The funny thing will be seeing how many 360 fanboys still repeat the mantra "the 360 has become the jrpg console!", even though that stopped being true a while ago already. the 360 may get better ports of Valve's games but teh ps3 has pretty consistantly gotten the better ports (or complete editions, depending on who you ask) of the japanese titles so really that doesn't say much outside of which side of the ocean do you prefer your games from.
