Tekken 6 PS3 vs Xbox 360

Top fighting game franchise Tekken is due to receive a multiplatform release of its sixth incarnation, uninspiredly named Tekken 6, on both the PS3 and Xbox 360.
With detailed imagery of both versions now available, a thorough comparison of the two is possible:
Console fanatics may wish to latch on to clearly invisible minute differences between the two versions in order to demonstrate the superiority of their chosen platform.
Should that prove too much effort, the fact that the PS3 version is apparently set to display only in 1024×576 resolution with 2xAA whilst the Xbox version displays at a mere 1366×768 with no AA should be sufficient to establish the superiority of one version to the wretchedly inferior competing version.
The game is due at the end of October for both PS3 and Xbox 360.

This company that developed this did really well on meeting their FPS and quality standards.
ha! i saw thay difference! the fire on the tank in the third comparison. in the PS3 version it looks more reallive but it can also be the fire is just in an different state *shrug*
if you have a 720p television, they're usually 1366x768. because the 360 version is rendering at that it will provide the best possible picture but even if you own a 1080p set up-scaling from a higher resolution will provide the best image quality.
these images have alot of jpeg artifacting so its difficult to make an assessment. eitherway the 360 version is technically better, running at above 720p. while the ps3 version is sub 720.
The PS3 has more subtle lighting effects. But there's far too small a difference to worry about.

That's interesting since in the image the screens are less than 1280 pixels wide and 800 tall, and I have cut them onto full screen for my comparison. Also nice caps lock cruise control for cool.
But seriously, ignore this idiot, the lighting is the only difference, and is you like it more vibrant the 360 wins, if you like it more realistic the PS3 wins; either way the difference is so unbelievably minor I'm annoyed I spent a whole minute of my life spotting it. And I don't find the graphics that appealing either, but whatever, it's not the graphics you play a game for.

On mine too FTW. Especially the textures like in Ninja Gaiden on XBOX (the first X, for slow ones).
They look the "same" no major differences so it shouldn't matter.
Im buying it for PS3 cuz thats what i own.
Microsoft is nice but red rings and bsod don't sit well with my and my linux brain.
Xbox colour's look more solid than the ps3, download the pic and check in bitmap form, its very clear

That's because there is no graphical difference between the two in any way. The difference is the resolution and anti-aliasing as mentioned in the description. The truth is, this isn't much of a big deal at all. He says that one is superior but it depends on the user to decide what is better looking. High resolution with no AA vs. Low resolution with AA. this is all a bit pointless.

Oldfag here, tekken had its day but in my opinion it really isn't standing the test of time. In comparison the game has been a rival to games like DOA and it seems that tekken is having to try far to hard.

Tekken fails when compared to games like Street Fighter, BlazBlue, Guilty Gear, and Soul Calibur.
BlazBlue and Soul Calibur are baby games compared to Tekken.
Along with that, Tekken is the most played and liked fighting game worldwide. It's also Japan's top arcade game.

SoulCalibur is even more button-mashing friendly than Tekken, but it's still a notch above since at least every character is different from the others, save for some three or four clones per game. Everything else I agree with kamanashi.

There aren't better fighting games than Tekken. I don't know if 6 will be as good as 3 or 5 but I doubt it will suck.
I prefer the DOA franchise.
DOA became shit when it moved to the xbox.
I still played the Xbox parts, but they changed the personality of same chars to the fucking worse.
Sometimes it even became so that when certain chars encounter each other they talked to each other as if they didn't know each other even if they had a long history together.
