Haruhi “New Season” Ends; Disappearance Disappears

All the newly created episodes of the current broadcast of Haruhi have been exhausted with the latest episode, leaving only further repeats.
Newtype has already published official schedules indicating the remaining four episodes are repeats from the original series, so unless the final episode is modified in some way (or replaced entirely), a prospect which Haruhi-ists will doubtless cling to until the bitter end, the “Disappearance” arc initially promised for the new series has entirely disappeared.
There is some speculation that continuations may come by way of a new PSP game or the entirely hypothetical Haruhi movie, but otherwise it seems the franchise will be dead for another three years, if indeed it ever revives…

At least the novels will continue (I hope they come to an end soon), as anon said, nothing of value was lost, it is good to see the anime, but as long as the story is not in perpetual hiatus I am OK...

Would Kadokawa have something to keep farming anime market segment if they run out of Haruhi to animate?
The episode-wise decisions for anime 2nd season might've been dictated by the unlikeliness of novels continuation.

The series, while as we loved it and know it to be/have been amazing, will have some major recovering to do.
I wouldn't be so annoyed if it wasn't for the fact that fans have been waiting for this for as long as they have.
Err, I'm saying this as not a huge fan of the series, but who does enjoy it.
After what they did to this series, they terribly need to put it back in the vault. Any more bright ideas would lead me to suspect that the whole production staff got a hold on some bad weed or crack.
