PS3 Slim Slower Than PS3?

Thats funny the PS3s Hard Drive is 5400rpm, it all depends on how much you have on your HDD and even though the TVs look the same model it could be slightly different would could also change the outcome.

i read this article saying, that in the ps3 update 3.o, when starting a game up, it wont say "playstation 3" anymore, you know? that spiderman font? that last video was only faster because on the slim, it didnt say playstation 3, im guessing the slim was already instealled with 3.0

Slim is only "a little bit" slower on boot up and running Bluray movies. Guess what this is propaly because of down downsetting the frequency on the core, to produce even less heat and noise and consuming even less power.

In gameloading it is a little bit faster (maginal).

That speed difference is pretty minimal, don't see it as a deal breaker. Do we know if it preforms slower in games?

You have 2 videos of it being slower. Then you have 2 videos of it being faster. Yet the article is titled "PS3 Slim Slower Than PS3". I would say that it breaks even. Plus, certain load times don't necessarily make a difference. The only concern is if its slower during actual gameplay.

Despite the fact that the creator of the videos uses the same type of HDD in each PS3, we don't know if the older model has the specified game info and bluray info cached and thus happens to load faster sometimes.

It's not a big deal, not like it's slower by 10 seconds or something.

But i do know that watch blu-ray movies are slower by a TINY bit, like 1 or 2 seconds slower. But it doesn't matter, as i know playing games on the PS3 are slightly faster though.

Someone mentioned that the PS3 Slim's Blu-Ray drive is more like that of something that would be used in a laptop.

In other words, the load time for Blu-Ray and Games could be due to read speed differences between the original Blu-Ray Drive and the new one being employed.

PS3 Slim cost $399 in North America, PS3 and PS3 Slim do not have same price. PS3 Slim is much cheaper than PS3.

i'm happy with my first generation 60 GB model... glad i didn't wait to buy it later, seeing how it gets worse and worse with each new model

FIrmware 3.0 is supposed to remove the Playstation 3 logo that appears after you click on a game. It just seems the PS3 slim has the functionality built into it.

They are both the same speed! And even if they are not we have all got what we want a cheaper affordable ps3. Who cares if it's faster or slower, as long as we all have the opportunity to own one, or two in my case!

It's not like you'll notice startup times anyway, since the PS3 spends most of its time gathering dust between half-decent 1st party releases.

the video is a fubar. you can easily tell that the video is rig, unless you got bad eyesight. it's like having a regular tv w/ cable box vs hdtv w/ hd cable box.
