Haruhi “Sigh” Arc 5 Episodes?

Recent buzz from the Japanese blogosphere and 2ch has all but come to the conclusion that the current “The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya” arc will run for 3 more weeks, coming to a total of 5 full episodes for the story.
The widespread consensus is mostly based on the calm rate Kyoto Animation has been adapting the story thus far, neatly fitting exactly 55 pages of the 278 page novel into the first two episodes of the arc so far.
The rest of the factors being presented are: There are 7 more episodes expected for the rebroadcast of the series, 4 of which are repeats from the first season, the original Episode 00 (The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina) should obviously come after the “Sigh” arc for continuity reasons, and there appears to be no time left for a proper adaptation of the fan-favorite “Disappearance” arc.
Taking all that into consideration, the idea that the next 3 episodes to air will continue and finish the current arc, and the final 4 airings will handle the still unaired quartet of episodes from the first season seems probable, although fan speculation has already proven to be wildly inaccurate once this season.

Once a - "single minute" - has passed, its considered history, therefore that if a few weeks have passed, makes it - "confirmed" - history.
~ I have given my reasons for enjoying the series, many times, and in many postings concerning EE and the series it self.

No, it is not, we can not control what decisions/suggestions, that the animé company/production wished to chose and do ~ as what is to be placed ~ "on air".
We wouldn't know, until it airs and we see it.
Some will like it, some will not, and many will not even like the small changes made to the series itself, no matter what those changes are.

I may be in a minority concerning the EE issue, and maybe even for the rest of the (so-called) "damaged" season/episodes that everyone has already branded Haruhi as... but its no matter.. to each their own.
Its everyone else who has been ranting and raving about it, and with it, all that added melodrama... and for what? - an animé?
Every time a article is mentioned about Haruhi, about new episodes, exposition, or whatever related, EE is always brought up first, and by whom? - By those who hated it and were mind-damaged. - THEY can't let go of it.
As you said, maybe (in time) everything will finally calm down.
I wonder ~ are fans of animé really - that needy - for an instant solution to everything?
Are they that complacent that they fail to see anything remotely different and new within the animé itself?
Like the artwork, animation sequences, the direction, the script, the symbolism, the subtle changes of character design, and even music?
But, I guess that's not enough... they need more, need a easy way to conclude things.
If any ex-Haruhi fan is that upset, before you/they go on a frenzy of eliminating their collections of figures, manga, light novels, ripping magazines apart, destroying DVDs, and throwing out all their Haruhi Collections, just give them to someone or sell them on ebay and get the money back that you used when you were a fan.

I thought the new episodes were being treated as a sort of Season 1.5, filling in the arcs which they left out last time, while putting most of the work towards the actual season 2.

This second season is a fail in my opinion... and i don't know why??, the books are really good, the story is great but this anime adaptation is worst i never seen...

I really don't see this going for a total of 5 episodes. And I REALLY doubt they would only do these two arcs for a "new season".
They did Endless Eight. Need I say more? 5 episodes sounds about right for a major arc though. Melancholy got 6 episodes and that was one book, sigh gets 5 episodes (even though not that much happens in the book).
This theory is completely eradicated if you take Endless Eight into account. Eight episodes for ONE of the SHORT stories in one of the novels that contained FOUR short stories.

Considering the direction with the scheduling and the decision to air Endless Eight the way they did, isn't it still possible we may yet see Disappearance?
If not, there will undoubtedly be a third season. Yeah, Endless Eight pissed off a lot of people but I don't think that will matter in the long run.

I use to be such a Haruhi fan, but when I read this the only thought that came to mind was "I really don't care".
Because seriously speaking, there's nothing significant really about the series, if you just give it a thought, what you only have here is some dogmatic heroine girl w/ a bunch of friends - where there's a generic dumb girl w/ the boobs for the male viewers and a flat-chested rei ayanami generic girl. I'm not being a troll, I used to like this series too, but the more i think about this series, the more i'm seeing there's really nothing out of this series. Not to mention how EE fucking open up my eyes regarding about the series itself.
Asahina is not a generic dumb girl. She is just submissive, or more likely have orders to act that way.
Nagato is not in any way generic. Her origin and the obscure way she seems to manipulate reality is interesting, but because she just wants to observe, not much is revealed about her.
Kyon is plain and whiny, but I can understand why. Haruhi is just plain annoying. Altering reality or not, the way she disregards everyone else's opinions just because she is bored and can't cope with reality is irritating.
I will only watch/read Haruhi because of Asahina, Nagato, Koizumi and some pity of Kyon. Haruhi only serves as a (rather annoying) premise, and I don't know if I can expect more from her
