Uhh... I'm pretty relieved that this girl isn't from Japan, OR appealing to Japanese. We already have Nevada-tan as their Murder Princess... God forbid, in Japan this girl would certainly rise to that cult status.

Anyways, I can see why she turned herself in.
Brazilian laws are flawed, and she is going to get off easily with this only because she is still 17.

Detention for minors in Brazil are even less efficient than standard jails (which are already pretty bad), so she'll probably get like 6 months at most in a light detention facility for minors and then will be free to proceed with her killings, until caught again, 30+ murders later.

We have other cases just like this one happen before, a huge discussion about the age of criminal responsibility was raised, but nothing came out of it.

All things considered though, we don't have many serial killer cases here... nothing compared to US at least.
But we do have tons of murders and violent cases specially in poor communities, usually related to crime mobs related to drug trafficking.

law enforcement sucks even with all the technologies nowadays. we should monitor with survey on society itself. i'm not surprised we can catch a lot vigilante and ppl going missing or dead over every minute in the nights around this globe. frankly i can pretty well kill a few ppl every night and get away probably unseen or vaguely witnessed by lucky(very lucky) witnesses.

no one cares if 30 ppl gone missing over 2 years in a big city. as stalin once said, kill a million it becomes a statistic and news. why shock over little tragedy? no one ask you to walk alone in the mid of night alone. heh heh

For some reason, I'm not disgusted by her murders. More so I'm amazed at how she handled this. She will pretty much get away with 30 murders. She deserves an award.
If she were Japanese, then everyone could go nuts and compare her to Ryougi Shiki.
