its stupid to even think of criticize the men, i mean comon what's ur name? john? hannah? whatever? google ur name and u'll probably would find pornstars with the same name. Coincidence or not its a name pornstars r ppl so they name like normal ppl, same goes for movies, games characters. he named her daughter kana, so what? just cuz the kana from the game is ecchi doesnt mean the baby girl it is or has to be too. i think the woman was just looking for an excuse to get attention. woman u FAIl. b glad the guy still likes u as much as he likes the daughter after what u have done.

In the guy's defence, I will point out that Kana ~Imouto~ is a classic, beautiful and extremely moving utsuge which has achieved semi-legendary status for it's tear-jerking qualities. While it would be a bit embarassing to name your daughter after a h-game character, the name Kana does have strong emotional associations for fans.

In the mid '90s, I heard about a couple who named their daughter "Gwaelyn", after the princess in the American Dragon Warrior 1. I remember thinking at the time, "what a couple of nerds, naming their kid after a character from a video game.."

Flash forward to 2008, when my daughter was born and I decided to name her Luna Alexandria. By an incredible coincidence, she happened to be born during a lunar eclipse, so I told my wife that was what inspired me (rather than the characters from a beloved Sega CD game =p). I also had the advantage of a nicer name than the one my wife suggested; Gwendolyn Akiko... ugh.

He could even say he named it after Minami "I Am Boss" Kana...

Erika Sendou sounds like a passable normal name, right? Worst comes to worst, I'll tell her I named her after the pokemon trainer.

See, this is why you have to have a backup plan before you name a child after something that your wife won't respect.

I'm sure the name Kana can be found SOMEWHERE in Japanese classical literature. The idiot just needed to find it somewhere and remember where he found it BEFORE ever suggesting it. Then he's got the source handy if his wife ever suspects anything. It's not rocket science.
