The latest in the interminable succession of novelty maid cafés to open in Akihabara is “Mononopu,” a café and bar whose theme is based on the sengoku jidai period, and whose “sengoku meido” waitresses wear a incongruous mix of maid outfits, kimono, and armour and swords.
The café explains its existence thus: “Lord Moeda Nobunaga has taken princesses from all over the empire to use as hostages, and they are being made to earn their keep greeting patrons!”
A complex system of ranks and privileges for returning patrons also recreates a suitably feudal atmosphere.
The establishment does however fail to explain why its hostage princesses are wearing random bits of armour and weaponry…

the girls are cute but a samurai cafe is lame
never ever give them a real sword or knife!
Iroha?
......Wilhelmina?
They seem to be running out of ideas.
Please let there be a Ranmaru Mori and Oda Nobunaga at this cafe XD
if anything, this reminds me of the "girls and corpses" magazine/website, if only because of the maids posing with the armor
I want a loli warrior café...
with real lolis? ;D
I approve of this. Highly original, with ambiance to match as well. Reminds me of another article of a cafe with a hidden-ninja village theme, with lots of traps and stuff.
This is also epic, in a moe kind of way. Those x-tra large ribbons are so...
My trap sense is tingling. 3rd pic, model on the left; jaw line too heavy for my taste. I fear there could be nutfruits dangling from the vine...
I completely agree. I think it's a trap.
I like the concept of a feudal meido cafe
I do not see the Hojo clan or the Shimazu.
fail
I was going to go there, after I was handed a flyer on the streets of Akihabara, but my friend and I couldn't find the place. We settled for Cos-Cha.
Fuck.
i dont like it -_-
ok does it strike anyone else that "samurai Maids" is an awesome idea for an anime/manga
She's gonna chop of your pee pee~~~!!!!
Ho-hum. It's not too bad of an idea in an anime way, but the execution here fails to impress me. It's certainly an interesting idea, and the idea of stolen princesses having to earn their keep being waitresses is an idea I quite like.
Are the maids using battle ready weaponry or are they for display purposes?
Amazingly good stuff. :)
ROFL!
+1 for "Moeda Nobunaga" xD
Maid samurai captured princesses.....
They suck as samurais!
I prefer my samurai maids to act seriously. Like Secchan from Negima when she would dress as a meido.
I think the Atmosphere is nice there, the costumes are original, but still wierd. I Mean its wether a hot Samurai Lady or a cute Maid blending both into one seems to be hard but the result is original...
I like the costumes, they are quite cute.
Oh! What a nice timepiece!
Indeed, didn't know they had those way back then.
that can be explained. it flips open to reveal a sundial.
if they have armor and weapons, why dont they just rebel
Coz, they no longer can live without the d ick of Moeda Nobunaga (costumer)
Is that Oda family crest? That means, Oda nobunaga run the bussiness?
It's not just the Oda crest. There's a few in there... kind of... strange, really.
... huh?
+5 points for originality.
-4 points for actually combining maids, ninja and kimonos into a missmatch of colour, oddity and food (without food it would have been -5).
-10 for no real samurai swords..
I was disappointed.
i seconded
'real' swords are banned in japan though..
yeah, but, not sharped sword are not :D
Thats a short sword... oh i know what they use that for.
+1
Jissutz... massaka ?!?
But it might serve not for them, but for customers :P
For some reason, I don't give a shit...
For some reason, I agree.
For some reason, I seconded that.
Hahahaha... AWESOME. Maybe they're like.. BATTLE princesses!
hmm... i dont like these
I hope those maids won't wear any war masks,,, -_-"
No shit.
Kinda like it. Feudal maid cafe... Nice.
Mmm... Tsubaki.. :3
Sorry, i mean Tsubame.. Accidentally got mixed up with Sakura Taisen's Tsubaki since both of them have the same bobcut..
