the light novel is worth reading. It actually is well developed and unique. The third season will probably be even better if it follows the LNs.
Railgun will be interesting but I'd prefer a sequel to index...maybe it will happen in the future.

2010 January sounds like an interesting month for anime movies, there's UBW, Nanoha, and of course part two of Eden of the East.
Good to see Shana-tan will still be around in the new Shana OVA.
Wonder what the Shana OVA trailer means by "starting again"? Disregarding the anime timeline and continuing off where the first movie left off? Since the movie is more faithful to the novel. Or would they disregard even the movie and reboot the whole thing again?
Ok unlimited ladeworks = HELL YES DO WANT. I think thats is my favorite arc in the whole game. A badass shirou is just plain awsome. Not ot mention we learn about shirou and archer more indepth.

If you think about it, at least Mikoto appears in her series. Index doesn't even do anything in To aru Majutsu no Index.
Mikoto not only appears in her series, she actually gets to fire off railguns again and again and again in multiple situations.
Touma would make a few appearances though...
There wasn't exactly a first series of Index, she was a minor character in most of it.
Well she was a major character through the first two arcs and the last. The other arcs weren't really about her. They were introducing new characters and doing charater development for Biribiri and Touma.
