A man is pressing charges against a woman he is accused of raping, accusing her of not informing him she had HIV.
The man apparently had sex with the woman at his residence in Helsingborg, Sweden, after the pair took a taxi there.
She alleges he lured her back to his apartment with a promise to give her the fare, then raped her. She allegedly begged him to use a condom, but he refused, and only relented and released her when she told him her children were waiting for her.
He alleges she was a prostitute who he drunkenly paid the equivalent of $500 to have sex with, and only pressed charges against him to avoid charges stemming from potentially having infected him with HIV, as she was HIV positive.
The man has not been confirmed as being infected.

Keep in mind that Sweden has a broader legal classification for what constitutes rape, such as having a "minor rape" classification for what would in other countries only be labeled sexual assault.

Well, consider the possible flip side of the coin. It's just possible, MAYBE, that he IS telling the truth, in which case he's been screwed over. But frankly, it's more likely that he's telling blatant lies in which case I hope he contracts AIDS and dies after a period of horrific suffering. And that he loses his court case, has to pay his victim's court costs and is subsequently imprisoned for rape.
It's pretty much a fact that men are completely screwed over if a woman cries rape against them. This is only strengthened by the fact that you can't polygraph a false rape victim to tell whether they're lying or not (the police will not believe you, like your above comment, they're inclined to believe the woman). A woman was recently found guilty for crying rape and got 2 years prison, as opposed to the possible 20 years a man gets if found guilty, and that's the harshest punishment I've come across so far.

Sounds more like the guy was telling the truth. She's a prostitute with HIV and begged the man to wear a condom so he wouldn't get infected and later sue her. But he didn't use a condom so she decides to strike first by saying he raped her, before he has a chance to sue her first for infecting him with HIV.
