The figure, a 1/8th scale recreation of the waifu of legend by veteran maker Alter, is set to go on sale in November.

Speaking of figures, I'm really not liking the inflation of the prices for figures. I have bought quite a few figures over the years, and around 5 of those are of Alter.
For 1/8 figures, they used to be around the 4500yen range, and then it rose to around 5500yen as standard a few years ago, and now it has hit the 6800yen range as standard. As for the Alter 1/7 Nanoha and Fate (Strikers version) figure, they are 12,800yen each...WTH!? They are PVC figures, not cold-cast figures! As much as I want those two figures, but those prices are just too ridiculous.
In a few years, the 1/8 figures would probably hit the 8000yen mark as standard pricing...while our income would remain the same (and that's assuming we still have a job if the economic depression remains the same, if not worsen).
Rather disappointing form almost all prespectives. One might think, that with the recent boom of K-on record breaking popularity, merchandise cadres would think twice befre they release a low-quality item and settle for nothing more than perfection, though here, that is clearly not the case. Fans may only bare hope in a miracle-record breaking figure, though it remains very unlikely for obvious reasons.
We have yet to observe any official Dakimakura Covers as well, though their popularity ratings are clear to most even now...

Already pre ordered mine. Can't wait for it to come out, and then delivered. Of course, if it ends up like my Haruna figure, where I had pre order it, and it took them about three months after it came out to deliver to me. I'll be freaking pissed.

I haven't watched k on yet. I'm waiting for them to announce a new season first since i heard how unsatisfying the end was.
That might have to wait though. At best, I'm guessing a 2nd season will be released around spring or summer next year.
It wasn't that bad, the ending. It just kinda felt off...
Nah, the ending was extremely good (if you're not expecting Yui to turn into a white giantess and Mio strangling Ritsu). Surely it better than some/most anime that ended with a "Wait whut, that's all?" type of finale.
Yeah, I agree. K-On never gave us the expectation of actually watching a serious anime about a band that is seriously aiming for the Budokan. It's just a lovely slice of life anime with a perfect slice of life ending.

Episode 12 was a great ending for this series. The bonus ep 13 was a nice day in the life episode, but it wasn't the ending.
They've pretty much animated all the manga stories in the first 2.5 volumes available, so they'll have to wait a while to get more stuff to work from. So you're in for a long wait for a second season.
Besides KyoAni is hopefully doing nothing but Haruhi for the next two years. :)

I would go with neither if it's like this. Mio figure looks absolutely stunning, and every detail on her bass guitar is perfect.
But problem is that both figures have a pose where they're halfway in the air. Imagine how they will look after a few years when room heat and gravity have done their work.
