A gang of four caught stealing Kara no Kyoukai posters claim they were intending to sell the posters to the otaku market.
The four thieves, ranging from 20 to 60 and of both sexes, were caught stealing posters featuring Shiki Ryougi and others from Type-Moon’s novel series, Kara no Kyoukai.
The posters, created to promote both the latest Kara no Kyoukai movie adaptation and Tokushima’s Awa Odori festivities, are unavailable for sale and were produced in the relatively limited quantity of 600.
Explaining their theft, they said “It was written in the papers that they would sell dearly so we nabbed them.”
They have been charged with theft.
Surprisingly, Taiga seems to have escaped this fate despite being even more popular…

I'd buy that.
Hell, I'd steal them just to KEEP them.
I know.. especially since it's extremely difficult to procure big enough posters otherwise. If they're anything like the promotion posters I know than they are like 2m*4m. Also, market price is already hundreds of dollars for posters that ain't even bigger than one measly meter.
Don't know why they don't sell copies of their promotional materials. Some of the store posters are quite fantastic. You usually can't find them anywhere either.
"The four thieves, ranging from 20 to 60.."
60 year old? Stealing anime posters? @_@
Hey at least they tried. Maybe they needed the money! You know, probably the old man ran out of "Depends" and needed the cash.
People don't magically become law abiding as they age. A lot of criminals simply transform from 'young criminal' to 'old criminal'.
I remember during the Nadesico movie people kept on stealing Ruri posters.
Stealing is stealing... wait... they tried stealing TM goods?!
I understand... though I would never sell them... haha!!!
Gorgeous- wonder how the movie posters themselves look like, though.
It can't be help
Where's my Azaka?
Just to correct... It's Shiki Ryogi not Shiki Tohno. :P
Well, they do have similar abilities. It's an honest mistake.
Amateurs.
I would buy that
Otakus would've just taken the posters themselves. At least they won't be caught mass-looting them like these people.
Fail is fail. Wonder what penalty they'll get.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1 year Social working @ Blue Oyster Japan XD
Not suprising, companies should sell their promotion material at a later date more often
But the most surprising thing is they were stealing those posters? Aww man~ 600Yen & still can't afford it? Shame on you, thief!
huge fail.
ahaha. storm wing needs moar literacy. XD
^
Failed at comprehension.
Lol so true.
Comprehension Big Fail.
"limited quantity of 600"
means there are only 600 posters produced.
"are unavailable for sale" means it is not for sale.
*facepalm*
Ugh to many retards
failipinos are a sad sad race. i've never seen a race with such small ambitions. every filipino i know is training to be a nurse. there are better occupations out there.
FAILIPINO !!!
You fail
You Failipino!
That is raicist man...
Careful not to get caught as to who you are... there are Filipinos all over the world... No Country is a country without one.
Racist? *gasp*
FAIL FAILIPINO! :D
Don't criticize us Filipinos that Badly. :(~
I don't really understand you. And by really, I mean REALLY. The point isn't that he's or isn't filipino, or he fails so hard. His name is "Storm Wing", and his avatar contains kanji. That clearly shows he's a japanophile WOW fag, and you still care with him.
^
double troll successful
so much hate on filipinos, dam racism...hope karma hits you hard.
FYI, I'm not from Phillipines.
Fail racists. LOL.
Oh? I tought limited quantity of 600 means "limited quantity of 600 yen" ^^;
LOL @ Fail /me
Hmm no: I regret what I have done and I feel that I have shamed my family, crap this time?
That only seems to happen when there is one person involved.
I've always wondered why they produce such items in limited quantities. My American upbringing doesn't understand why these things aren't mass produced and sold at the same price for megaprofits. The things we tend to produce in smaller numbers aren't as imperishable as glossy paper and PVC.
So it sells for more...
If things are of limited quantity, they'll be more rare and fetch a higher price as a collectible.
Otaku Life = Thug Life
wut...?
Meh can't they just order produce it.
otaku would probably buy those posters if those thieves didnt get caught.
>Shiki Tohno and Kokutou Mikiya
I think you mean Shiki Ryogi. Shiki Tohno is the male protagonist of Tsukihime, Ryogi is the female protagonist of KnK.
Sorry. I was having a high fever when I wrote it. Thanks for the heads up
