Nyotaimori, “naked sushi” or “body sushi,” is the formerly obscure “Japanese” performing art concerned with eating sushi off the bodies of naked ladies, enthusiastically picked up on by western media as an example of Japan’s perverted culture and probably now enjoyed by far more western perverts than Japanese.
As with many such terms, the meanings in Japanese and English have diverged, but the essential theme of combining food with sex is quite intact.

In its Japanese usage 女体盛り / nyotaimori, “female body presentation,” refers to an obscure perversion of uncertain and supposedly ancient provenance, where sushi is served from a naked woman’s body as an erotic entertainment for men.
In its modern Japanese usage, nyotaimori also covers eating cake and so on from the female body, known as “food play” in English.
Whatever its traditional status, nowadays it is best known in Japan through its notoriety overseas (it was apparently all but unknown in Japan until western media began publicising it), and it has enjoyed something of a revival through AVs and eroge; it is practiced in a few of Japan’s more maniacal sexual entertainment venues, though it is far from common or well regarded.
A similar practice, almost completely unknown in the west, is わかめ酒 / wakamezake, “seaweed sake.” This obscure erotic art, traditionally performed to celebrate the New Year and similar events, involves pouring sake onto the breasts of a lady such that it flows into her lap. She keeps her legs firmly shut to allow a male companion to drink from the resulting pubic pool.
Whether the act of drinking from a lady’s cleavage constitutes a similarly obscure tradition is not recorded.
All of these practices can be subsumed into what in the west would be called “food play,” referring to the plethora of fetishes concerned with licking cream from naked ladies and similar pastimes.
