The long rumoured PS3 Slim has appeared on Amazon.de.
The swiftly discovered early listing on Amazon’s German site lacks a price or release date, but looks to be genuine enough.
Additionally, Sony has been confirmed as having stopped shipping the “old” 80GB model in Japan and elsewhere, taken as a sign that a new line-up will be incoming shortly, with the Slim presumably taking centre stage.
The incredible secrecy and dubiousness of the rumours surrounding this release have made past revelations difficult to believe, but it appears this tips the balance in favour of the device existing.
Just why Sony continues to refuse to acknowledge it so close to its supposed release is perhaps the real mystery now…
The HDD could be removed and replaced with an SSD, this would reduce the size, but push up the cost by loads. Incidentally, it doesn’t look that impressive to me. If they reduced the width however, well that would be a different case all together.
I wonder what they removed this time to make it the slim. After what I’ve heard about what they removed to drop the price on the original.
WANT.
