The cast of K-ON!, their seiyuu, and the at times optimistic “official” 2D versions are compared in this image.
Their identities:
Sawako Yamanaka: Asami Sanada
Nodoka Manabe: Chika Fujitō
Ritsu Tainaka: Satomi Satō
Mio Akiyama: Yōko Hikasa
Yui Hirasawa: Aki Toyosaki
Tsumugi Kotobuki: Minako Kotobuki
Ui Hirasawa: Madoka Yonezawa
Azusa Nakano: Ayana Taketatsu
2ch’s microscopic analysis reveals some problems with the perspective of the illustration (though some whisper that they are actually a dig at Kotobuki’s height), but you are perhaps better spared these…
Azusa seiyuu scares me -__-;;;
I liked all seiyuus ^^
FUUUUUUCK YOOOU, THREEE D!
What have you done to my Mio?!
dude why aren’t american voice actresses this cute? oh wait… BECAUSE THEY’RE AMERICAN! /facepalm
“Tsumugi Kotobuki: Minako Kotobuki”
Wait, is that a typo or really both just happened to share the same surname?
I’ve posted a response to this above, but oh well.
They’re pronounced the same but “spelled differently” in kanji.
Mugi-chan has two kanji in her Kotobuki 琴吹, literally “piano/string blow”, a reference to her proficiency with the piano/keyboard.
Minako-san’s Kotobuki has only one kanji 壽, literally “long life”.
Damn my kanji input software, I sometimes mix up whenever I’m trying to type Japanese or Chinese. The one I typed above 壽 was the traditional Chinese version, this 寿 (with less strokes) is the Japanese one.
