Another obsessed otaku demonstrates his mania here – he has seen fit to procure 29 boxes of IdolMaster figures, in this case Nendoroid Puchi The IdolMaster Stage 2.
This would come to somewhere in the region of $1,500.
At least he will have an impressive legion of idols on display, more than can be said for the even more profligate Mio headphone maniac…

I WANT THAT MANY! I mean, a quarter or a half of that amount...
I'll never understand this sort of spending. Why buy 174 of the same figures when you can buy 174 DIFFERENT figures?
Or 87 different figures in case you destroy one of them in protest of an anime jumping the shark...
It's his money to spend, but I'm just saying I can't fathom why he'd do it.
that is tooo much for me i don't even buy one its just alot for me
welcome to otaku`s world..
Not all otaku is rich LOL~!
japan has less expenses when it comes to food because they would rather starve themselves than risk not buying their favorite otaku items..
MIURAAAAAAAAAA
He's crazy...wtf is his motive for buying so many of those figures? >_>
Everybody here has the answer to that question buried deep inside our hearts...maybe even YOU!@_@
stupid. you cant look at more than one at a time. why the fk would you buy that many. okatu or not, idiots
Thing for the future is.. Sell again in amazon, ebay ,etc! the profit is very sure for the rare one!?!
Mai 2 cetz:
1. Actually a store owner showing off his stock.
2. Motherfucker raising the price of Idolm@ster Nendos for the rest of us by limiting supply.
....And the next morning woke up with a terrible hangover.
this guy is awesome.
stupid awesome,indeed
He only bought them because he could, but he never stopped to think if he should.
i hate people who do things like this. they made some figures rare outside japan
He should give me the money. I want a new beamer and stuff.
He's gonna rig them with microchips and have an army of lethal cyborgs.
Well if you think about it rationally, he might have monopolized the idol master nendoroids, now what would stop other otakus buying for him even if he overpriced it. Profit $$$$$
This guy seriously needs to see a psychiatrist.
Using the mouse scroll wheel up and down on the first picture gives the coolest effect.
he building Mio's empire
I i'm not mistaken, such a box holds 12 figures, not 6.
http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n78942060
so he bought actually 348 figures, not 174.
Oh shit its a conspiracy I tell ya, a conspiracy...We will all DIE...he is creating an army,an army I tell ya...We must kill or be killed by the kawaii figurines!
>_<
Imagine a 174 figure conga line winding its way through his house, all of the same figure in the same pose...
well thanks to these people, the anime community has some steady income. heck, i buy 1 thats good enough for me, another guy buys 174 thats good enough for him.
+1 (sarcasm aside)
I just want to know what kind of jobs these guys have to support their habits. I'm in desperate need of a job and I just can't wrap my head around this. Where does the money come from?
Credit card fraud, male prostitution, dope-dealing, robbery, theft, re-sale of stolen goods -- you know, the usual money sources for addicts. ^_^
Don't forget the whole pimping your female classmates thing
So... like... I don't get it. Why? Why? Of all things, why the number 29? What's the significance of it? Just because it's a prime number? Or because if you put it in Japanese, it sounds like "niku" (meat)?
Umm... wouldn't that be "ni-jyuu-ku"?
29 = nijyuukyuu (二十九)
2 = ni
9 = kyuu (but can be "ku" such as when used for 9 o'clock... 九時 )
Thus, 2 9 = ni ku.
Just trying to justify what I said...
Looks like you were dying to explain that one.
ok, I get it now, thanks.
>>174
I have no words to express what I'm feeling right now.
A fool's attempt to buy "coolness". FAIL.
Why should we care that these people waste their money when they could actually use it for something worthwhile? Think how many different things you can buy with that money! (or *gasp* actually donate it if you are fucking rich)
Presuming they acquired the money legitimately, it's theirs to "waste" however they please. If that means them living on ramen for a few months, welcome to "consequences".
Young punks downtown don't understand when I ignore them begging for change -- as they smoke cigarettes, wearing their leather jackets. They chose how to spend their money, and I'm not willing to support them by giving them handouts.
I'm not saying it shouldn't be the guy's choice whether he spends over a thousand dollars on the same figures. It's just that why are stupid things like this getting posted as news? (besides the fact that Artefact looks for random things he can write articles on to get money)
> why are stupid things like this getting posted as news?
logic phail
Anonymous gets both a spelling and brain "fail" for the lack of sense in his logic argument.
I'm not the one trolling.
trolling success
Where do these otaku get their money? They don't work do they? If they do work, who would have them? Do they leech off their parents?
Inquiring minds want to know.
whats up with these obsessive otaku hoarding articles today...
Men are not losing theyre penises in odd and unexpected ways recently, so the news turned theyre eyes in otaku money-burning.
Damn I hate these bastards thats why figures sold out in 2 fkin days :(
Yeah I was watching these on Hobby Search as well, since I missed out on the reservation. I get an email from them saying the figures have come in, and on that same day, I check the site....too late.
I know how you feel... I once got enough money to buy one thru mail order then I recieved this notice that it was sold out just a day after it went to market. Damn! That was a limited edition of Suigintou too....
