A Hollywood adaptation of stylish shooting things anime Gungrave has been announced, to be undertaken by Convergence Entertainment, also responsible for King of Fighters…
Yasuhiro Nightow’s epic gun series Gungrave, will start production next year, with a modest budget of some $30 to $35 million, financed through “strategic partners in Asia”. To help them with the adaptation, they have also hired Red Entertainment’s Yasuaki Nagoshi to produce the movie.
Gungrave is well known through the anime adaptation of the original PS2 shooting game; the title is known for combining a variety of themes, from gangster action to sci-fi shooting.

Well Hollywood likes guns and exploding stuff this would be a good forte for them. As long as they don't FUCK the character Brandon Heat or do a SHITTY FUCKING new character.
Why is everyone saying Hollywood ruins "good" animes? They just make stupid decisions on which anime to adapt. Dragonball (which was, what, the ONLY anime movie in theatres?) was from a fantasy fighting genre...not good for movies. If they'd pick less retarded sources then the movies could be good.
I'm personally looking forward to Cowboy Bebop and Death Note. Easily adaptable. I kinda wanted to see Akira, too. Not so sure about Evangelion...

Hey, I'm a GL fan myself and I do believe it's very, VERY possible to them to turn something as great as Iono-sama the Fanatics into shit. Luckily, Japan doesn't much care for GL (this is a weird year, not counting it) so the chances of any GL getting snagged by Hollywood are as low as Evangelion having a good end.

uh.... seriously , since when did Holly ever get one right from adapting animes into live ? it would takes years and years i guess , and that's the sad part , years of well-unfortunate selected (well-respected) animes should be tried before i think they manage to get one adaptation right. ...it was so bad it was boring. I didn't even crack a smile at the horrible dialogue, effects, or Chichi explaining her name, which made me think of Chichi o Moge. If Chichi o Moge can't make something humorous, then NOTHING CAN.
