    lol @ consolefags.

    The consoles use blurring etc and bad textures to present the games at 30fps stable.. its rare to see a 60 fps game on console because they purely just can't handle it.

    And the 360's graphics processor is a x1950 ATI and PS3 with the NVIDIA counterpart.. which is almost 3 generations old....

    got a hint yet? If you buy a modern PC now, it will last til sony can dish out their PS5 or PS6 lolol. I laugh at those who think PC gamers need to upgrade using thousand of dollars, ignorant idiots. Don't forget DX11 is already out for PC gamers, console consumers will have to start saving money for a new console very soon.

    PC gaming is a dying medium. In the future, PC gaming will consist only of MMORPG's, and even that genre is a slippery slope.

    Arcades died because consoles caught up to it in visuals. Now PC's will die because consoles are catching up in online capability.

    None of you morons would use your brain or do some checking.
    In the 80s there was a huge crash in video game industry and North America was heavily struck.
    The Japanese people managed to make video game revive, but the result is that most games are released on consoles.
    Why? Because Microsoft & Apple are both American, not Japanese.

    Fuck to your PS3/XBOX superior theories. PC is just now suffering the aftermath of that huge crash. Doesn’t mean it is dead or will never heal.

    Also, why Microsoft is releasing games on xbox?
    Because the PC has been trying to reclaim its status since the crash but never really succeeded, so…

    In the past it was JAPANESE CONSOLES COMPETING each other, DC, GBA, PS, PS2,Saturn, pc never had a chance to beat them. Now you get xbox.

    Stupid westerners, one more day you support PS3, one more day you are slowing down Western world to reclaim their status in Video Game Industry.

    Indeed a good story, but fabricated. Indeed, consoles are and still is a good piece of hardware to put in your living room to play games, but can they kill off PC? Nope. And why? Because, all the games that are churned out on the consoles are generic shit that are recycled over and over and over and over again.

    Indeed, some of the best games out there were taken from ideas of indie game makers that think outside the box. They don't care shit about what the console zombies wanted. And where can you create these masterpieces? Certainly not on consoles, where you have to pay the console makers rights to create games on them. If you think PC Gaming is dead, take a look at the indie gaming fest and think again.

    First of all why are you comparing eroge with other proper games ?Eroge are PC limited special hentai games(of course their are DVD-PG also) and if you don't like them not my problem. Do you really think Japan doesn't create any good games ?Hell 60% of the good games comes from Japan,if you only see those as repeating plot(no new idea) then you are a fool(okay I make an exception for Pokemon,Kof and Dynasty warrior).
    Why is everybody comparing PC against consoles and how is gaming different on PC or console? Is it the graphic ? Is it the control or is it the loading time ? I think not, I think it's limitation, be it budget or fandom. PC is a multi-system and gaming is just a part of it and since not everybody has the same PC, compatibility and error are always an issue .So to fill in those gap console were created ,just gaming in mind ( aware of console now being more than just video game like our mobile phone).

    Bottom line if you are a true gamer devote yourself to game rather than system that were true happiness lies (it ain't cheap though).
    The only thing I can't comprehend is why Japanese gamer doesn't like good US games (e.g. good FPS,Gear of wars) and why eroge are so expensive?

    Eroge are expensive because they need the money to maintain their little eroge industry.
    Japanese people dont like GOW because their view on man has changed, from "being manly" to being slim. If you are like Marcus, not like 須王環, then you are out.

    60% good games come from Japan? Have you ever played some Polish games or Ukrainian games? I mean, The Witcher and STALKER. You think 60% from japan because you like Japan yourself, and you ignore some other games. You have probably played much more Japanese games than western ones.

    Also, I dont hate or dislike eroge. I am just saying that eroge is a part of japanese video game industry and is producing more and more duplicate stories, which ultimately means something wrong with they.

    Okay, so it's Kojima speaking, but that article left me depressed.

    Wasn't it him who was always saying "We must follow the Western technology-based methodology" or something to that effect?

    Look what the so-called western methodology brought us... Activision and EA. Also complaining they will simply drop support for anything that doesn't sell.

    I don't know about you, but I like Japanese games. While the west gives us manly games and Hannah Montana, Japan knows how to give the kind of girly games that appeal to men. If Kojima manages to convince everyone in Japan to think western, it would be the end of lolis in video games as we know it :(

    But more seriously, just look at Crazy Taxi and other Japanese games from the nineties/early 00's. They have aged very well, because of their art style, despite the technology of the time. Compare with western games like Counter Strike -- you can pretty much "carbon date" a western game, but not a Japanese one. Heck, Kojima's into full motion video cutscenes, so what? I still like my textboxes and sprite overlays, thank you very much. If the Japanese are into "rules" of gaming, I love my rules, as any good sportsman of gaming should.

    Haven't you seen that the Japanese games have fallen into loop?

    Nothing new is being created, just like anime/eroge.
    Everything is about a group of girls fall in love with a man.
    And no matter the story is about robots fighting or school life, the plot is always the same.

    Japanese people dont create Halo or Gears of war, nor Mass effect or Assassin's creed.

    My points:
    1.PC should gain more support than consoles

    Shallowness is welcomed but depth is rejected.

    There are some exceptions, but still not at a level of "classic art".

    You can have your taste, you can love your Japanese games.
    But be aware that your taste is a special one.

    Just like eroge, they are the taste of only a limited amount of people.

    Kojima maybe a follower of western culture. But he can create MGS series while other Japanese creators can only create series that have repeating plots.
