This Touhou artwork depicting several of the game series’ normally moesome cast of characters is done in what is usually called リアル / “real” style, although most observers are likely to regard the artist as having taken it a bit too far…
The illustration will grace the packaging for an upcoming Touhou 1/24 model itasha (or “toy car” if you prefer to be honest about things).
Amiami is taking pre-orders (domestic only), but does not have any actual photos of the product on its site, but a previous Touhou itasha from the same line should give an idea of what to expect:
The art on the actual itasha themselves (not the image art on the packaging) is by the talented artist Tomusooya, a master of Touhou pantsu.
No images of the new release model are available, but fortunately the decals have been revealed:
More information, and much Touhou art, is available at Tomu’s site, Moe to Web.
Looks like North Korean propaganda art.
Yes, it looks creepy; but it’s retro, I guess. It looks like retro 1970s ad, indeed.
ZUN looks totally cool there.
i would totally go for a model of the mystia catering truck thing.
I’ll keep the car, but I’ll defnitely burn that packaging of horror thing
