Birdy the Mighty’s athletic protagonist Birdy Cephon Altera gets a typically erotic rendition of her in mid-cavort, with plenty of fleshy detail preserved by her skintight suit.
The figure itself is a 1/7 PVC rendition of Birdy, by Uplark, a manufacturer who so far only have a handful of releases to their credit…
The figure itself is rather nice and it's a lot better than you'd expect from such a mediocre series. The OVA was better in my opinion...at least certain parts of it were.
I have her pre-ordered but I'd still like to see the finished PVC. The decomas above is definitely top-notch on all parameters but if Uplark's production quality can't keep pace, I might have to bail. And I'd like to avoid that on all fronts; a Birdy figure is isn't something you see companies putting out every month. Especially of this quality.
PVC is mainly used because its relatively inexpensive compared to other plastics like ABS or sculpting materials like polystone. Integrating soft bits and extras costs money, especially when you look at the overall picture of mass producing figures. Blame the people who didn't pay their mortgages.

The squid things arm has the right angle, but is to far away. Assemble failure. ^_^
The figure is not bad...
It's simple and elegant, with pastel like colours...
However, she reminds me of the lead female character in ~ Higashi no Eden (Eden of the East) ~ Saki Morimi (森美 咲, Morimi Saki)
Haha, Birdy couldn't be farther away in personality. She actually can do things in her anime.
true that.

Whatever it is she's wearing, it's not practical at all.
Practicality takes a backseat to fanservice
skimpy clothing most fit for the job
Indeed.
As many females don't in most anime series/video games :P
Still, nothing like high heels... =_="
I'm assuming you haven't seen the OVA/series. Just about every part of Birdy's suit is utilitarian.
I swear she had a bigger bust in the anime...
The face makes me sad.
Why? oAo The face looks cute!
