Air Travel, Chinese Style: No Seats

A Chinese low-cost airline is planning to run flights with standing room only tickets, with passengers being made to stand for the entire duration of their flight, allowing up to a 40% increase in human cargo.
The president of the airline, Spring Airlines, claims the Vice-Premier Zheng Dejiang suggested the idea:
“He suggested that, for a lower price, passengers should be able to get on a plane like catching a bus, with no seat, no luggage consignment, no food, no water, but very convenient.”
The plan would entail discounted standing room only tickets, which has apparently been previously mooted by aircraft maker Airbus, with passengers strapped to boards during takeoff and landing.
Approval has not yet been granted, but with the blessing of so senior a figure the president is confident of approval.

... the most retarded thing ever. Have they even considered the take-off scenario for standing ? not to mention the disruption for balance once it manuevers. I hope they don't learn from a huge massive tragic accident just to realize life is not that for a risky flight.

That simply can't be. It's against international flight regulations.
A plane like that just couldn't land on any non-chinese airport. It'll never be allowed to simply taxi in those conditions.
Not to worry, the PRC will just tell nations that object to either accept it or they will stop trading with them. Similar to how they bully nations not to deal with Taiwan.
And some nations are up to their eyeballs in debt to the PRC (Sri Lanka, name one.) that they accept it not matter what law get broken.

Reminds me of a particular movie: First class seats are overly done complete with spa blah blah blah I can't recall (call it the epitome of luxury), while economy class is a bus-style standing place for passengers, uses old-school TVs that depend on aerials and blah blah blah.

You know what, why don't we just get everyone to pile in the plane. No clothes, because they take up space. Just shove them all in like sardines, on top of each other, they can have air holes to breathe with. We can put a net over them to keep them in the fuselage (no roof, that costs money too).
Hell, why don't we all just fund matter transportation research? Screw airplanes/cars/buses/motorcycles/bikes/simmilar-things. Beam me up. XD

Haha, while I do find news like this funny, I can't help but feel that you do indeed have a strong bias against China (coming from a Canadian). It's not so much that anything is being distorted, but just from reading the related news headlines, it seems that negative news about China usually emphasizes that it happened in China, while news about other countries often only briefly touch on or neglect the location altogether.
Anyways, on the topic at hand, while certainly there has been a history of safety negligence in China, I highly doubt this sort of thing would be implemented.
The article only pointed out that the airline was Chinese once.. and that was for obvious reasons..

At the same time, none of those except the Korea ones had any hint that the news was representative of the entire country. The last few simply pointed out the opinion or actions of a person. I wouldn't even consider anything about the Rozne Aso one negative.
The equivalent of that in this article would be "Airlines Vice-Premier Zheng Dejiang suggests seatless air travel in China.", or something to that degree.
