The new OVA of the moderately ecchi Aya Hirano anime Akaneiro ni Somaru Saka has given the show an even greater ero upgrade than we saw in previous DVD releases of the TV series.
For those fans who have only to see the cruelly censored original TV broadcast, it might even come as a shock that this OVA even belongs to the same series when looking at the screencaps below…
The OVA is decidedly a “bonus” sort of episode, taking place on a deserted island with practically the entire female cast on hand to provide a welcome amount of mizugi fanservice.

As for the rest of the episode, several fantasy sequences of the lucky male protagonist are inserted occasionally, resulting in several of the screencaps below appearing more like poster art than footage of an episode.
(In case you’re wondering, this is a composed image made from several frames.)
For those unfamiliar with the series, this is Aya Hirano’s character, Minato Nagase, the younger sister of the protagonist (and also one of his two main love interests). What all this means for her marriageability is not clear.
You might also remember her oshiri mousepad that was announced late last year as well…

DEAR LORD! What have I been missing?! I watched this show before ever coming to Sankaku or similarly informative sites, and hence had no idea the show was even censored.
But it looks like anything I missed out on is gonna get made up for as soon as someone subs this. I pray it comes soon.

While I wouldn't agree that anime in general has been getting better, I will say that ecchi anime has been improving.
Since it is getting better in some way, I would say anime IS improving.
