Activision to Sony: “We May Drop You”

Hmm ~

I am still watching this whole thing myself...and gathering the possibilities.

I want a PS3, but was disappointed about the non-backwards capability of it, as I have some PS2 games.

In fact, I still have my PS2 and still use it regularly, because I have plenty of games for it, plus I use it as my main DVD player.

I maybe in a minority, but I hope that Sony will return to their roots and make it backwards compatible, less in price, and then I can see it selling through the roof, because in these times, people need a console that's actually thinking about the consumer.

I see allot of mudslinging BS between each console makers and in a way... its boring.

I know what I want, I just wish they would just open their eyes and make it happen.

So, I will continue to wait and see what transpires.

If Xbox does release a portable console.. Sony is history

If the ps3 only sold well in Japan, I would get pretty worried too.

lol at all the weeaboo comments above by people who don't understand how massive the video game market is outside of their little JRPG world. Activision ands parts are one of the reasons video games are as big as they are now.

Hmmm.... Whatever... not like the 360 is selling like hotcakes. Heck with a $199 price tag selling 125k a week is downright ominous. Oh the Wii thing.... I don't know if they're games are gonna sell well... Most 3rd party games just don't sell on the damn console.

COD:WAW(Wii) sold not more than 1.5M and you're gonna drop the PS3. I know dev costs for Wii are lower but that'll be condemning some of the userbase on the PS3 who don't have a 360/Wii.

Another thing.... Are they saying they haven't broke even with the 3M+ sales on the PS3? C'mon... They've gotta be kidding me.

i really think people thet chose ps3 is because they like japanese games such as rpgs, anime games and others, so i really think it will be allrigth, first person and 3rd person shooters are xbox strong point, also anyone neonbe can afford a ps3 can afford a decent pc to play most of those games.

Activision? Aren't those guys the idiots that dropped Brütal Legend becausethey thought it'ld suck and then they sued EA because they picked it up and everyone at E3 loved it?

As a multi system owner I honestly say this is not good news.

Sony needs to buck up and work harder to maintain their industry position. I am eagerly anticipating multiple 360 titles but only a few PS3 ones. They let too many titles slip to the 360. The multirelease titles like ghostbusters were poorly done. Relying on timed exclusives to expire like Vesperia is also a bad idea. Waiting more then a year for a handful of extras is not the way to attract customers.

Atelier Rorona (Loli) is a good start but there needs to be more cute stuff coming out on the PS3. JRPGs is the speciality of the 360 and it seems cute titles like im@s and dream club are too. Shooters like Deathsmiles are too. Sony needs something going for them and its not a good idea to rely/ on square-enix to give them preferrential treatment.

The title i'm waiting for excitedly this few months is dream club. Atelier Rorona isn't as impressive although its a good step in the right direction. PSP's Project diva is coming soon but its not a PS3 title.

So what Activision. You and your sub par third party titles and quick cash ins annoys me. The only developer really doing anything for you have all been force to crank out sequels after sequels. Is terrible.

Activision got cocky ever since they acquired Blizzard on their side. Without Blizzard they have a few titles going for them but not nearly enough to be arrogant.

only the ffxiii has moved or might i say has been available for both the 360 and ps3 but still the ps3 has the ffxiii versus and the ffxiv

while the mgs series "will stay on sony"

the only reason kojima ever decided to create a Metal Gear gane for the box was for U.S users to experience it.. (but from what i have heard the game is unrelated to the MGS series)

ps3 is still alive and only cheap-ass kids complain because of the price.

ps3 has better specs than the box and that's why it is expensive

and gfx wise i'd rather choose the ps3

This just shows that Sony needs to get their act together and listen to buyer input. Fix the recurring issues with their hardware (went through three PSP's before one worked), before it goes to ship. Maybe if they stopped trying to rape the buyers for every cent they'd have a more loyal client base...

Lol. If only Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid moved to the xbox then that would completely eliminate my reason to get the ps3.

I generally don't like Sony, but the PS3 is an awesome peace of technology (Cell processor).

Anyway, I hate Microsoft even much more and think the Wii is a nice toy for casual players, but it lacks some functions.

Actually I'd like to see some reasonable options, but until they pop up, let's at least keep the trinity.

Of Coure the best RPG are in the playstation, so the fans will always buy this console, and also all the sports games are ikn the playstation, final fantasy and winning eleven (PES) support this console

While Activision dropping the PS3 isn't a big problem, imagine what a Nathal based Training With Hinako game and a Rock Band: K-ON! visual novel/rythm game hybrid X-Box 360 exclusives would have done in Japan. Ah, the opportunities missed by a dumbass marketing depeartment(s).

I'm enjoying this a lot, I hate to be a fanboy, but sony really pisses me off.
