Sanya V. Litvyak Pantsu Figure by Kotobukiya

A new figure what is likely the most popular Strike Witch, Sanya V. Litvyak, is on the way from maker Kotobukiya and will likely prove to be a must-buy for all true Sanya fans.

Kotobukiya‘s official name for this 1/8 PVC figure is: ストライクウィッチーズ サーニャ・V・リトヴャク / Strike Witches Sanya V. Litvyak.

She stands about 215mm tall including her base, and was sculpted by 槙尾宗利 / Munetoshi Makio, a fine sculptor whose earlier works include the Nanako Loli Nekomimi Sukumizu figure.

The first thing to come to be noticed is Sanya’s tilted pose (with legs askance), and the metal pole required to keep her upright.

Aside from the distracting pole required (and one other flaw to be addressed later), the rest of the figure looks to have an excellent sculpt.

These propeller blades are one of two sets included – realistically metallic stationary ones are shown in later photos.

Also note what is probably the best part of the figure: Sanya’s cunningly conceived underwear lines!

Kotobukiya here uses one of their standard, with deep black fitting Sanya’s outfit fairly well.

The rear of the figure doesn’t seem to merit any particular comments, as her clothing, tail and ears all look excellent.

A closer look at her brings up a bit of a concern…

The face does not do a great job of invoking the Russian loli’s features, perhaps because of the eye’s smallness and distance from each other.

In a reminder of what Sanya looks like is required, here she is:

In any case, most figure collectors eventually grow a tolerance for these sort of inaccuracies, and the Kotobukiya Sanya is sure to draw much attention regardless, taking into consideration the quality of the overall work.

Finally, this is merely unconfirmed rumour by those who have touched sample review versions of Sanya, but it may be possible to remove the metal pole and swap the pod on her left leg with one minus the mounting hole in the final version.

If that turns out to be true, it would be helpful for those who find the pole too distracting, although Sanya’s pose would make displaying her lacking the support troublesome.

Painting the pole black might also help.
