Singer-seiyuu Marina Inoue (Gurren Lagann’s Yoko, Maria Holic’s Matsurika) has already had her impressive art skills displayed here before, and she seems to have developed quite a taste for drawing as new art of hers continues to come online.
Inoue seems to be coming closer to fellow otaku idol Shoko-tan’s level of artistic accomplishment, although not nearly as disturbing as Shoko-tan’s own guro artwork…
These two pages are the only two of a short manga Inoue has so far uploaded; she apparently has completed 8 pages of her magical girl story, Kuma-tan Senshi Hoippu-chan (Bear-tan Warrior Hoippu-chan).
Despite the utter lack of context of the plot, here is a rough translation of the above page:

It is obviously hard to make heads or tails of what is going on, except that kuma (bear) power is direly needed somewhere, and Hoippu-chan appears to be supplying it.
She definitely looks to be up to the challenge of a magical girl in any case, as her depiction on the particularly attractive cover shows:

Wow, a little more and she would be horrifyingly close to Mine Yoshizaki's style.

Looks like GL largely influenced her, especially on hair and eyes.
Also everyone seems to be forgetting cute art =/= good manga. Unless it's really bizarre, the story seems as generic as they could possibly come.

Magical girl mango, I'll wager that it's major Mary Sue.
Still, Inoue is one of my favorite seiyuu, so this is icing on the cake. Even if her plot ends up being like every magical girl story in the history of forever.
Is any magical girl story not like any other magical girl story? If Inoue ends up taking this and running with it, and in the very last arc years down the road, the protagonist doesn't fight a Final Boss who was responsible for all the previous major baddies along the way, I'll buy you a beer.
(Don't think I won't read the hell out of it, though.)

I've said this before and I'll say it again: Marina's drawings show much more potential than Shoko-tan's. I'm looking forward to seeing where she takes her hobby.

bear face thing reminds me of minami ke fujioka bear. somehow the mahou shoujo reminds me of alicia/kana mix. a mix of past experiences? haha all in all marina inoue is amazing with her talents!
