The sales rankings for the first weeks of this June have become available, and as always prove interesting to examine, giving us a good look into what series are currently dominating.

These numbers (as always) are release via Oricon, the body which compiles almost all such rankings in Japan.

Neither list presents any true upsets, with the penultimate Clannad After Story DVD getting strong sales its first week, and ONE PIECE and Bleach flexing their dominance on top of the manga charts (Naruto is missing from the manga charts, as it did not receive a new release recently).

The DVD version of the new Evangelion 1.11 remaster performed especially well, surprising a few given that one would expect true fans to purchase the BD version instead, since improved visuals appear to be the main selling-point of the release.

Haruhi-chan‘s performance might be striking for a release of a freely-broadcast Youtube anime, but much like the Evangelion release, both series carry more than enough weight over their target otaku audiences to easily explain their high sales.
