Professional oriental monk impersonator and Hollywood actor David Carradine was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances early this week in his Bangkok hotel room.

Bangkok tabloid newspapaper, Thai Rath, was one of the first news sources at the scene of the ongoing investigation and printed a front-page photo, which allegedly shows the actor hanging from a fixture in his hotel room, in what appears to be a wig and women’s clothing.

When Carradine was discovered, his wrists and penis were found bound by a length of rope, which was then affixed to a wall-mounted rack, possibly to achieve a state of auto-erotic asphyxiation. Foul play has not been ruled out in the case of Carradine’s death, as it is supposed this could be an elaborate cover-up of a rumored murder by organized criminals, though a motive is not apparent.

Thai Rath’s publication of the photo, albeit without Carradine’s genitalia in view, has caused outrage with his family which claims the newspaper had no right to publish the photograph.

Due to the low quality of the photograph, several interpretations of the situation have been made, such as Carradine was wearing womens’ tights, or his lower extremities were discolored because of blood-loss, and the ever-popular assumption this is not Carradine at all.

Even pictures of the original photo have been blurred since Thai Rath published the images.

This is claimed to be the door outside of the Bangkok hotel room where Carradine was found.

Carradine is best known for his roles as Kwai Chang Caine in the American TV series “Kung-Fu” and the Quentin Tarrantino samurai-western “Kill Bill 2”. Ironically, Carradine played Bill.
