Personally, I like all of the characters. However, the one thing that's bugged the crap out of me is that Ritsu and Yui's hair looks too similar. Of course there are differences, but they're too subtle for my tastes.
Huh? How the heck does the K-on! fanbase effect Ritsu's eyesight.? I'm talking about how the arrangement of the drumset (since it has the left and right side) causes her to get crossed eyes.

I noticed that at 1st time i saw the ep when i froze that moment to check if it was me or it was them.
I'm actually suprised how kyoto animation can accidentely fail it. Its the 1st time i see them do a fail. Well, there goes my Master Perfection Animation, but no one is perferct. I love their animation, and ill keep love it, regardless of that fail.

*sigh* Why must little things like this get blown way out of proportion on this site? This incidence is far from an animation fail on KyoAni’s part. Although K-ON! isn’t quite along the lines of epic as say Code Geass, it is a good example of how current animes can be entertaining as compared to older series which all tended to relied on the same thing to entertain. Although a lot of the older series you listed were in fact great, I find anime in the more recent years to be far better off. Animes like Code Geass, Gurren Lagann, Spice and Wolf, Strike Witches, Macross Frontier, Black Lagoon; those animes actually entertain in a number of ways. And even thou there does seem to be an awful lot of moe anime coming out, I don’t dislike moe because of that, I’m just not really a big fan of it, however; there’s a lot more to K-ON! than just moe moe kyun~! even if you can’t see it. K-ON! is actually a good anime that can be funny and interesting but also happens to have super cut moe girls in it.
Why do you even need to compare K-ON! with those serious anime legends like NGE, Gundam Wing, Spikey Bebop, etc? Those serious story legends should only be put into a competition with the likes of Code Geass, Gundam Seed, Eureka 7, etc.
K-ON! stands more as the Chibi Maruko or Ranma 1/2 of the 21st century, so don't expect Mugi to suddenly pull out a giant robot out of her mansion and shoots beams on aliens or Sawa-chan revealing that their highschool is actually a secret military base..
Don't group Haruhi with those shows.
Oh, I'm not just talking about Haruhi. Remember Cowboy Bebop, Crest of the Stars, Evangelion and Gundam Wing? Shows of that caliber almost never come out these days. The quality of anime in general has been declining over the last decade, and K-ON is symptomatic of that.
Code Geass? Eureka 7? Neither one of those are great shows. Mildly entertaining, perhaps, but certainly not legends... and Gundam SEED was just horrible.
Ranma 1/2 had it's issues, but it was still infinitely better than K-ON. Instead of the absurd hilarity of shows like Ranma, modern anime has embraced an 'OMG MOE!' mindset. It's as if the industry expects us to love their shows merely because the characters are cute, in lieu of any actual interesting plots or character development.
I wouldn't go THAT far... it does have a LITTLE win in it ;_;
