The Taiwanese army has apparently adopted Haruhi for use in their recruitment posters…
Haruhi tells us:
“Still looking for a job? Want to have a stable income, learn some useful skills or get some qualifications? Join us and let your dreams soar!”
There seems to be no limit to the extent with which Haruhi’s image is blithely copied and used to promote all manner of products, unless of course the SOS-dan really does have an official partnership with the Republic of China’s armed forces?

Republic of China armed forces ~= Taiwanese army. Republic of China = the government currently located in Taipei. People's Republic of China = the government currently located in Beijing.
More like the Taiwan army is training for the most part to protect the place from a China invasion.

I hate it when old men sit back and order young men to die for their own selfish interests, especially if I apply the logic that the old men wouldn't be in such a favourable position in the first place had they died as young men.
I respect my elders but I won't die for their sake. If some 75-year old general/president wants to lead an army, so be it, but he should be FIRST IN LINE when the army charges forward and LAST TO LEAVE when the army retreats. THAT is a truly responsible leader to look up to!
