The problem of broadcasting a hentai ero-anime, designed to sell DVDs, on terrestrial TV has long vexed both fans and TV stations, and in the latest terrestrial broadcast Queen’s Blade a new low of pointless censorship seems to have been reached.
The censor’s arsenal of unseasonable mists, mysterious foreground objects, and inexplicable glare and shadow has been stretched to breaking point in Queen’s Blade, but with the latest terrestrial broadcast of the yuri bondage episode it appears to have broken completely: censors apparently gave up and just blanked out troublesome parts of the screen completely…
Late night TV anime is essentially comprised of advertisements for DVDs and related merchandising under the current distribution model, but even so it seems to be an exercise in farce to attempt to sanitise such a title so that it can run on the more puritanical stations.
Via Cartoon World.
shoulda just been an OVA series
Waaa those ridiculous amounts of censorship are ruining the fun T_T
cens ver – epic fail…
who can watch this? Oo
The DVD is uncensored so what’s the matter?
Don’t think of it as censored anime but as lengthy adverts for the DVD version.
I actually find it funny. I mean admit it, this kind of censorship is way better than black bars all over.
Just buy the DVD already!
Related Ecchi and Moe I’m sooooooo getting this on DVD…
Probably the only person in this comment section with any sense.
LOL I love seeing how much they censor this show. Tis so very bordering on hentai. Maybe it’ll just break all boundries on the final ep lol.
Then again… how many guy characters are there in the show? I’m not aware of any/many. Only seen 1 ep mind…
