Girl band anime K-On!‘s most recent single release, ふわふわ時間 / Fuwa Fuwa (Fluffy) Time currently stands on the #3 spot on Oricon’s weekly single charts since it’s release last Wednesday, continuing K-On!’s extraordinarily successful position on Japan’s music charts.
The single, released last week on 6/20, is the insert song played in episode 6 during the Keion-bu’s first concert performance.
If you have yet to had the pleasure, it can be heard below:
Fans will (?) be relieved to note that the full version has Yui singing after her voice has returned, rather than the cutely hoarse voice used in the episode.
Oricon’s rankings are viewable here.
The Fuwa Fuwa Time single CD is available online.

I'm surprised it's popular, I thought the song sucked...
Not that great. I would save money to buy some real musics.
Appreciate your heartfelt opinion. Enjoy your Miley Cyrus.

the other song on the single is better
is dat sum GAY CAKE GIRL
Didn't like it for some reason...
good music man!!! oh yeah, I loved
Elegant in its simplicity. And Mio's VA is a brilliant singer!
LOSSLESS FTW!!!!!!!!!!
Waki... I seem to get attracted to Ritsu more than my Mugi Ojou-sama
So first was the guitar things.
Then, the seifuku things.
And now this...
NOMNOMNOM this needs the waki tag.
Don't spill your saliva on my lovely Ritsu's armpits~!!!
wow.. delicious ritsu pits there, great pic.
song was pretty catchy, i like it.. i dont know how long though. i cycle through a lot of music genres each week
Yui's destroyed the song during the ep. I might actually enjoy this now that they got rid of that.
The song itself is not bad =P... though I enjoy the ED a lot better than this.
It's said in Japan that the seane of this song looks like L'Arc~en~Ciel's PV.

He's right I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago myself and I also have the other 2 singles that was released.
buy it. thief
u too lol
lol.
^^ great song i like it hehehe....
Is this due to otakus alone?
that's what i was wondering too when don't say lazy was #1 but then again one person bought like a bijillion copies
i like all their songs anyway :3
Well have you heard the song? I can't believe any sane person would buy this crap.
already bought it :3
Well if you consider the fact that the anime is slice of life which is quite popular with non-otaku girls compared to non-otaku boys [who only watch shonen AFAI've observed] it not might be due to otakus alone..
Although it should be noted that there are otakus who buy multiple copies so i guess it is possible that this is purely the otaku's doing.
I'd buy the CD.
Seriously, music isn't all about the lyrics. Instruments used and the tabs played for each instrument also count.
In my opinion, "Fuwa Fuwa Time" passes my instrumental judgement. Though, the lyrics are only slowly growing onto me.
Also i agree, don't like utter crap songs.
INB4 YOKO KANNO
"Otaku certainly accounts for the lion’s share of momentum behind these sales, but considering the sheer number of purchases required to make it to the top of Japan’s national sales charts, there must be a significant number of non-otaku involved somewhere."
That's exactly what i was thinking. The target demographic is too small to account for the entire amount of sales.
Otaku certainly accounts for the lion's share of momentum behind these sales, but considering the sheer number of purchases required to make it to the top of Japan's national sales charts, there must be a significant number of non-otaku involved somewhere.
We don't have any more detailed information to give here, apart from what Oricon provides on their web site.
So, you're implying that all people who watch K-on (otakus and "normal" people alike) are not sane? If that's true, I don't wanna know what sane is!
Heck, being "normal" is overrated. Normality is only concurrent with the social values of the time.
Thank you for clearing that up, liveevil, I think Anon there misinterpreted what I was saying. I was only meaning to distinguish the "normal" people from the "otakus", and nothing further.
@Anon: Questioning my own sanity or normality is not quite appropriate as I am basing my judgment solely on my own experiences.
Like you said, an insane person will find those around him insane. However, an insane person will find the insane people around him sane, would he not? It all comes down to perspective. And as we all know, each and every one of us possess a unique perspective which is reflected by the experiences which we have individually been through.
ahaha~
thanks for clearing 'em all up. actually i was responding to liveevil, and i did misinterpret him. sorry. i just resent something when it comes down to people categorize another group of people as "retarded" or "insane" or whatever it is. like what basilio had said, everything is just relative.
my point was only: when one categorizes a person different from him as insane or retarded, he should first ask himself who's actually the insane and retarded one here.
Ohhhh haha, yah, I get what you're saying. Assuming that other people who are different from you are insane or retarded is indeed a heinous display of discrimination and prejudice.
Thought it will be hard for the person to see that he is the insane/retarded one, let alone admit the fact. Moreover, he would only be considered insane/retarded by the mainstream society, since it is the relative normality of which we speak of so commonly.
Actually being normal/average is quite underrated nowadays. Being "different" is what's overrated if you think about it.
>Insert Nami Hitō's line here<
"well, being insane in group of insane people is considered “normal” too. that means being different isn’t the same as being insane. so if u are going as far as implying that others are insane, u better question ur own sanity, cause an insane person thinks that the people around him is insane."
Well the guy's usage of normal is somewhat different to what you're implying which is relative normality.
"(otakus and “normal” people alike)"
The way i understood him is that normal people are non-otakus or average people like Nami Hitō from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, hence the reference to her line "don't call me normal!".
Exactly right. Being "different" has become the cool trend today. Therefore I strive to be a polar opposite. Because whatever is cool is actually pretty fucking retarded.
Hope that makes sense.
well, being insane in group of insane people is considered "normal" too. that means being different isn't the same as being insane. so if u are going as far as implying that others are insane, u better question ur own sanity, cause an insane person thinks that the people around him is insane.
anyway, i also approve though, that yoko kanno's Macross Frontier songs are the only ones really deserve places in the oricon chart
Does the people around you complains when you listen to the music you like?
Let them listen to what they like...
