A Romanian girl who auctioned off her virginity to the highest bidder went through with the deal for an unspectacular $12,500, selling her hymen to pay for university tuition, she says. The buyer turned out to be a 45-year-old Italian businessman.
She says of the man who deflowered her: “He seemed much younger. He was very funny and charming. He didn’t have a beer belly. We got on very well.”
She is blasé about whether the man was adulterously consummating the deal: “He didn’t say if he was married or had a family, and I didn’t ask him.” It appears she has the right attitude for the job.
The girl also surrendered what remained of her dignity in a series of medical inspections to check whether she had any previous users.
The legality of all this is still unclear – it seems police were too busy harassing professional sex workers and their clients to bother with the girl.
