The exact same argument has been used for people with scars from some accident, or any tattoos (I'm mainly thinking of discrete or artsy pretty ones) or any piercings. This is a pretty retarded reaction especially to the first category: Shit happens, just because people have accidents and then heal doesn't mean they no longer deserve to be an accepted part of society. Compare humans now to the way many looked like during the middle ages: A lot of people were pock-marked, coarse skin. Any handicapped people looked a lot worse, too.
