No, I watch the series. It's fun for mindless entertainment, but all this praise and the newsposts this series gets, is just too much.
It's just the KyoAni effect. They try to appeal to otakus(for sales). This site does the same(for page hits). Quick and easy results.

I must say, I don't usually appreciate the looks of seiyuus(exceptions exist). Maybe their gifts are their voices, not looks.

It's not that they can't "try it," more like, they can't "get it." I respect the fact that all the ppl who say, "3D pig ,disgusting, fail, etc." They face reality and stick to what they can get, which is 2D.
For actual 3D people, I think the K-ON! seiyuu are kinda cute. And they have great voices, which as a seiyuu is all the really matters.
I thought the voices of the K-On! cast were kinda bland. Not something I'll remember if they were to be involved in other series.
