We saw previously how adaptations of the classic Chinese novel the Romance of the Three Kingdoms (Sangokushi in Japanese) have spawned a legion of sometimes irreverent anime, manga and game franchises; here you see and updated and expanded version of that same diagram, showing what diverse interpretations each character receives.
It seems the most consistent article of similarity here is the beard, although even that is far from stable, especially with all the feminised versions…

Just saying Sangokushi is not Romance of Three Kingdom. Sangokushi (三国志) is the historic record of the events that Romance is based on.
