Women Terrorise Japanese Trains: 5 Ways to Avoid Arrest

the-wrong-way-to-avoid-groping-charges.jpg

Japanese men are increasingly desperate in the face of innumerable false or dubious accusations of groping on the nation’s trains, and with the presumption of guilt and no legal recourse face almost inevitable prosecution if accused.

The best advice on offer? Specialists working with police suggest following the five points below may allow a male passenger to reduce his chances of being falsely accused of molestation:

1. Don’t stand near the doors or corners of the carriage.
2. Grab the hanging strap with both hands.
3. Don’t stand next to a woman.
4. Put your baggage on the rack.
5. Don’t do anything which could be misconstrued.

Unfortunately, since police and courts almost invariably listen only to the woman’s version of events, all these can readily be counteracted by mistaken or malicious testimony, save in the presence of a sound alibi, a difficult thing to find on a train full of strangers resolutely ignoring one another.

70% of groping occurs in the morning rush hour, but men are advised to be on guard at night all the same, lest they be mistaken for a lecherous drunk by one of Japan’s princess caste.

If you are accused despite all this, someone involved in defending such wretches offers this advice:

“If you’re accused, the first thing you must do is keep calm and discuss it with your accuser. If you shout she may just be provoked, and that is the worst possible outcome. Don’t under any circumstances go straight to the station office, first call your lawyer and have them intercede.”

It may be wise to secure legal counsel ahead of time.

Of course, such charges do not emerge out of a vacuum, even if they do appear to be taken out of all proportion.

Via ZakZak.

2ch offers its supplementary 5 ways of avoiding false arrest:

6. Don’t get on a bus or train.
7. Become a hikikomori.
8. Keep touching the man next to you.
9. Get on the carriage for perverts.
10. Dress as a woman.

Some can’t help but wonder if men-only carriages are the only way out of this predicament…

Why is groping such a serious offense? It's just touching =/

I wouldn't mind getting groped by women unless I was in a bad mood

Touching shouldn't be as serious as some other crimes (theft, for example) but it should be one nonetheless.

The main problem is that we blow 'sexual' stuff out of proportion and by doing so, minimize the suffering of those who are victim to robbery and violence.

Actually, I've been groped before by a girl, strangely enough. It's not that bad if the girl's ok looking, but when she's old, fat, ugly and sweaty, you just don't want her anywhere near you - especially when you consider she'll be masturbating to the way your butt feels later that night. That's kind of sick, don't you think?

Seriously? I got my ass grabbed by a chick one time and I just freaked out man (before I even saw her face). It was out of nowhere. It was not fun, I did not like suddenly feeling some girl's slender fingers grab my ass as if she was trying to pick up a basketball with one hand.

Rape is a whole different game with serious medical issues. Groping, other than the surprise which some who aren't attractive enough to get groped regularly (myself included), which only some find unpleasant, is harmless. For those who dislike surprise, just wear a tag that says, "Warn me before you grope."

My tag would read, "Grope me, I beg you."

I think that sort of attitude is why these laws are becoming so harsh. I hate the whole 'Well if a girl did it to me I wouldn't mind.' argument. Of course you wouldn't, your sexuality isn't often promoted to be more important than who you actually are as a man. Girls getting groped is just another reminder that people don't respect them or see them as important.

I wish girls wouldn't lie about gropings, it makes it harder for actual victims, but saying that some strangers sweaty palms all over your body isn't a problem is ridiculous. Please think of the girl's feelings as a woman in a totally different position than you when you say such things.

About the actual article: Cute alternative list.

Do the words 'socially unacceptable behaviour' mean anything to you? Should you be groped by a young lady (unlikely in your case), you may respond in kind. However, suddenly groping a, perhaps, virginal young thing will freak her out (it is a kind of rape)and will land you in the pokie).

I've been groped by a shemale at the dancefloor, a hairy ugly shemale, which grabbed whole my sack and shaft, yes "it" had really big hands.
Also "it" were about 2m tall, and muscular.
This is one of the most scary moments of my life, i ran like hell..

If the girls get the same reaction, I can quite understand why they don't like it.

Seriously, if it comes down to a "his word against her word" in court, the case should be thrown out. There needs to be some kind of evidence, ANYTHING that shows that the guy did was the woman is accusing.

Do trains have video cameras? Maybe if they did it would help defend the falsely accused in such cases. Assuming they follow the "both hands on the strap" advice.

DING! DING! DING! We have a winner!

The fact is that Chris gets it right: there should be OTHER evidence besides just the woman's word..... like the statements of someone else that they saw the man touch the woman and they didn't think it was an accident.

Not just that, the 'someone else' should be a stranger of no relation to the girl, like she shouldn't be able to get her girlfriend or boyfriend to do it, since they could conspire, perhaps to blackmail.

It's beyond simply unfortunate that anyone would lie about being sexually assaulted for personal gain. It's positively disgusting. However, I think the current policy is better than requiring evidence, since you would think that gropers would be experienced enough to be covert, possibly making it very very difficult, if not impossible, for another person besides the person being assaulted to be aware of this act. As such, if someone honestly has been assaulted and wants to keep other unwilling victims from being assaulted, they ought to have a chance to have their story be heard and believed.

To be honest, I don't think feminism is bad if it means equality for the sexes. If it turns into extremism where people are trying to subjugate men, then it's bad. As a female it's embarrassing to see women act like they're better than men. As a human it's embarrassing to see any people exploiting each other.

I guess...if anyone comes across this article they should know that just because you happen to be a certain gender doesn't make you a liar or the kind of person who is unscrupulous enough to exploit other people for your personal gain. Everyone ought to have the right to say no to something they don't want, even the first time it happens.
