Kannagi caused much outrage and extreme reactions when the manga hinted back in November that the titular goddess may have consummated a previous romantic relationship long before she appeared before the male protagonist in the first chapter, as long-time readers of this site may recall.
An erotic doujinshi by Hozumi Takashi of circle P-FOREST (who seem to have a very limited online presence), published at Comic Market 75, confronts the main couple with the problems this implies for Jin.
A translation is now available for your viewing pleasure on the Channel.
The doujinshi in question is of excellent quality, and all three main characters make their appearance with even Zange-chan included in a few pages — indeed, she plays a central role in advancing the plot leading up to the erotic scenes, as she decides to challenge Nagi-sama to take their popularity contest to the next level.
Hozumi Takashi himself has an impressive 79 books on record, the majority of which involve characters from Mai-HiME, Mai-Otome and Super Robot Wars.
His Zange-chan doujinshi, published simultaneously with this Nagi-sama volume, continues the storyline but ends on a cliffhanger — please also look forward to the forthcoming Channel translation of the next chapter in what may turn out to become a wonderful series.

Alas, if I recall it got almost nothing but 'do not want' comments. Combine that with her posting the loli pillow and getting almost nothing but positive feedback, and that probably scared her away.

So it's likely just usual male/female otaku rift of ideals. Nothing surprising there. Don't get me wrong, people manage to bridge it all the time, this just doesn't look like one of those instances.
That crossdressing article was the third most popular that day. Who cares what a few dozen people say in the comments, what is important is what the tens of thousands of daily users who do not comment at all wish to view.
I think any such rift is chiefly imaginary. There is a very healthy female fanbase here despite the endless succession of idol galleries so I do not see nay problem there.
And whatever they may say to protect their masculine image, most men love crossdressing, let alone the ones we have here.

Hard to remember sometimes there are exponentially more people who view an article but don't comment on it, then people who do comment. I forget how many hits this site is up to already...
As for cross-dressing, well, I'm listening to "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" soundtrack as I'm typing this, so enough said there -_-;
Of millions of unique visitors, the site has something like 110,000 comments - clearly a minority of users ever leave a comment, just as one finds on most such sites.
And of those, most of the comments come from an even smaller core of regular commenters, so in fact listening to commenters can be deadly. Of course, comments are tremendously important all the same, but just not in this context.
User behaviour, which basically means page views in this context, is the only way we can really come to know our audience.
