K-pop girl band Girls’ Generation, whose chart-topping single song “Gee” has spread like wildfire both in Asia and in the West, has inspired a host of imitators who have paid homage to the group’s sexy dance moves and have posted videos of their exploits for all to see.
The imitators show a wide range of dance skills, talent and coordination, and their performances range from being charmingly delightful to amusingly awful.

I don't get what's so great about these Japanese dances that spawn so many imitators. I guess they're just too afraid to imitate Indian stuff (South Indian, specifically. Some of those moves look like they should break you if you're not fast or flexible enough).
You're absolutely right, and I don't get why Japan would suddenly transform into Korea and start singing in their langauge, that's just completely stupid and typical of them. If they want to be brave about it since that's absolutely the only thing that matters in life then they should dance those South Indian dances, because they're really appropiate for their of music and totally much more superior because it requires extreme training and requires extreme hip movements, because all types of dances that are good do that.

I never even realized that Korea had a Japanese duplicate of J-pop called K-pop. I guess the K slipped past me. I didn't even listen to the music, I just watched the vid for the dance, as I hate pop of any kind. Still, sorry, it was stupid of me to assume, but everyone knows how easy a thing that is to do.

It's precisely that they are catchy (bubblegum pop), easy to dance and fun that people like imitating. I mean, imagine some high difficulty dance, sure those good at dancing may learn it, but for the general public? Perhaps no.
