Even as PS3 owners have been celebrating the much anticipated release of Tales of Vesperia for the PS3, some Xbox 360 owning otaku have been infuriated by the “exclusive” nature of their release, and have resorted to typically extravagant displays of outrage.
Above you see their disc breaking and magazine burning… A possible case of overreaction?
Via Ore-teki.
Will similar scenes greet the (presumable) release of Star Ocean 4 for the PS3?
At least (overseas) Xbox 360 owners already have the pleasure of knowing the latest Final Fantasy will be gracing their console…

YOU ARE DOING WRONG use nero or alcohol 120 TO burn your disks XD
that was funny lol
360 otakus
lol
It's pitiful really. Don't they know to expect ports to be made later on other systems in the future? This happened a few times in the remakes or ports onto different platforms, so they really should just expect to see just a time delay for this game.
Their outrage seems to be simply childish and retarded.
I have a 360 and got this game as well, but it's not like I'm raging 'cause it's not a 360 exclusive anymore. Actually I'm glad it's coming to the PS3 meaning I can enjoy even more than I did and the fact that all my bros who have a PS3 that hasn't tried Vesperia, can.
Besides what's wrong with sharing the awesome games with the other bros out there? It's all cool. Seems to me that they're blaming others when it's really their choice in the first place.
I'm ranting too much but yeah, I'm happy for a PS3 port. Hope it actually comes to NA though
Yeah, except the PS3 guys get a BETTER VERSION. Better. By a LOT.
Hell, I don't blame these outraged fans. The producers turned their backs on them.
See me? I love my 360, but I don't have enough money to afford a PS3. Therefore, the knowledge that I would forever more be playing an inferior version would be like a damned splinter in my dick.
It's sad, but we now live in an age when "Console Exclusive" REALLY means "You probably won't see it on any other consoles for the next six to nine months or so".
Probably a bette rgame because of the greater storage capability of the Blu-Ray format. Don't think they wanna pull a SO4 by releasing a multi-DVD set. When games go multi-DVD, that just goes to show the outdated format is getting pushed to its limits.
Well, it could be that, but I also think that time constraints may have had something to do with it. I mean, they completely took out the world map in symphonia 2, and Flynn was made out to be more than just some chump who'd end up helping out a few times from the very beginning, plus I always thought it was odd they'd go as far as making him a playable character just for the one battle... it just didn't make any sense, production wise. And some of the dungeons felt incomplete - I know we were all expecting a pirate ghost boss in the ghost ship...
The signs were all there that stuff was -missing-, so if anything I think this is all stuff that was originally intended, but they just ran out of time. What you said about them not wanting to push the format to its limits just doesn't make sense, considering that it -has- been done already, even by Symphonia.
Like you, I don't have much money, so I won't be able to play this very soon. I definitely understand the otaku-rage, too, but... really, that is taking it a bit far...
gtfo
>gtfo
Leave and take this shit with you.
There goes your money.
they have much money to buy again...
I laugh at their misfortune.
"And THAT'S for stealing our FFXIII!"
Fuck YES!!! :D
Amen Brother!!!
AMEN !!!!
I'd rather have FFXII then Vesperia but I'll wait till I play the demo included with Advent Complete. Seriously this whole loyalty thing is just stupid.
Revenge is all too sweet :)
HELL YEAH!!!
stealing? since when has FF13 been taken away from the PS3? Last I heard it was just being released for both consoles.
Really, it's not like you won't be able to play it, so why do you have to use a word like "stealing" anyway?
On topic, the people who did this are absolute retards, the tales games are all over the place with the platforms, so the fact that any Vesperia owners felt "betrayed" or felt the game was "theirs" needs to grow up.
also, to everyone else here, in after retarded PS3 360 fanboy rage arguments.
I think they're more mad that they bought a 360 for the game. Only to find out that the PS3 version will have more stuff.
Also PS3 AND 360 are getting FFXIII however, because the 360 is getting the game in the US it's been delayed on the PS3 for a similantious release.
And they can go buy two more xbox, and it would have cost them less than a single PS3.
WHAT NOW ?
uhm... no?
uhm ... Go kill yourself.
who cares? only you
There is no comparison, price is irrelevant.
Poor mans console is poor.
XBox 360 owners will eventually own another one anyway because there's a high chance that the one they already have will RROD on them.
*holds back of hand against mouth* OOOOOOOOOOOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO.
Omg that so made me think of Naga from Slayers...best laugh like that I can possibly think of rly.
Yes, that was exactly my intention! ^_^
Slayers is one of my ten favorite anime of all time. Have watched all of it like 5-6 times and every time I watch it it is still as fun as the first time. Best characters ever.
The laugh is very standard for self-absorbed (and ~evilish) characters in Japan though, both in anime and j-drama. Can probably think of at least 15 characters that use that laugh.
Unfortunate for me I can only think of like, 2 other characters, but I do have a relatively narrow experience with Japanese media.
It's Resident Evil 4 all over again.
yay, destroy your "thing" too...
¡They are in despair! ¡Namco has left them in despair!

The reaction on 2ch.
Sounds like a waste of whatever how much money they spent on it, which I'm assuming is around the area of $60 converted to Yen?
something like $78 converted to yen.

say, anybody gets mad if i declare that final fantasy ceased to be interesting with ff10 ?
i did not like ff9, but after the 10th, they're failing over and over. knowing xbox 360 will get ff12 too is not going to make me that happy.
it's a bit off topic though.
FF13... FF12 is on PS2...
shesh, you're right. i meant, ff13...
ff12 in fact DID NOT make me happy.
Nah u r probably rite. They totally ran out of good ideas after FFX.FF12's story was crap.i didn't even managed to completed it.
I don't even understand people's standards when it comes to this, being how 12 was the closest to a decent story in the series' history.
i played ff12 to the point you have to rescue penelo... and somehow the story so far havent caught any of my attention =/
and i noticed all the previous series got the main character into trouble, but this one... stealing jewelry and escaped the castle without much trouble... O_o even if they landed in the prison... the security... *facepalm*
i wanna finish the game, but kinda lose interest into it now >_>
FF7 was the last good FF. FF9 was good until the end that made no sense whatsoever. 10 was just a super-linear piece of trash with a lacklustre story just like their newest work The Last Remnant. Use a turbo controller, go to sleep, game completed itself.
Rant Mode off
FF7 sucked and still sucks.
FF6 was the last good FF title.
*Flame Shield ON!*
6 is overrated, and only beloved because it was the last 2D Final Fantasy. 7 is also terribly overrated, for reasons too numerous to mention here.
As far as the series goes, 8 was probably the only "bad" one, and X-2 was the most underrated.
Omgosh go back to your magical girl rubbish and stay away from our RPGs!!
Magical Girl RPGs are still RPGs! Also, I dig the whole Rikku getting a bunch of skimpy outfits deal...
FF7 was shit, and so was PS1.
GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHTS YOU DUMB KID.
If FF7 was so shitting why anyone will bother make a movie out of it?Get ur facts rite buddy it has the most interesting plot among all the ff series though its 3d graphic still suz but it was consider it was at 1997 wat dat u expect?
Because retarded fanboys with emo issues are one of the easiest types to sucker money from.
Just toss in an emo main character with spiky hair and an oversized sword, a big chested bimbo bouncing all around the place, and let them fight a long-hairred emo punk anti-hero with a 'katana-sword'(which is basically saying Sword-sword), and the above mentioned retards will just bite onto every scrap of rubbish they release.
please tell me you're joking. ffX ia a piece of crap.
i didn't mind 10.
i played 8 first, and i liked it. well, i was young. i played then 9, which sucked hard imo (no charisma from characters whatsoever, the story was an actual maze, and the end had absolutely no sense at all, as someone already said). then i played ff10, which was not that bad as 9. i liked blitzball ;DDDDddd but the levelling up was crap, and i didn't like the monster laboratory, the fact that you could break 9'999 limits, not to mention the fact that the main bosses were easy as hell. come on, the last boss healed itself for 9'999x2 everytime he got hit, but jesus, he was zombieable. he killed itself :S
next, i played ff7, which had charismatic characters, good story, and an excellent magic/equip arrangement, if compared to the other ones i played, especially to ff8, where the "usable item-like" magic and junction system kinda sucked hard.
ff10-2.. hell, i even bought it ._. 2 hours of playing, and then i sold it. i did not played ff11, neither ff12, since i just watched my ps2 playing that boring game. useless story, bad ending. like i'm going to the market because i need bread, and there i find other customers that have their own needs. while in the queue someone say "hey let's go save the world", we go, save the world, come back, leave the market and farewell.
if i have to admit a sin, that would be not being able to play ff6. i even have it on cd, so i could play on ps2, but the graphic gap is too much for me to handle atm :\
the only ff i truly liked maybe VII, followed by IX.
i actually play XII, and I think it was a decent game, but the ending sucks. it was like the guys who made the story run out of idea at the end of the game, and say "what the hell, lets just throw some random crap for the ending and hope to gods it work". it didn't.
i hate VIII and X, but it's probably because those two were a romance novel disguised as a game, and i'm not too fond of romance stories. i highly suspect that FFX'x crappy voiceacting is a contributing factor, too.
well anyway, though we can't find a proper common thought about which is the "best", or "which one we liked the best", we're all on the same boat when talking about "next ff won't make us happy"..
>on the same boat
>same boat
>boat
...nice boat?
FF would be better with some yandere
There is one in FFVII...
Just that it's a male yandere...
I'ma step out on a limb here and say that FF started going downhill after I...maybe III, if I'm feeling generous.
FF was never good to begin with...in fact...all games sux!! i stopped playing video games n laugh hard to those who said playing video games is fun...
/in b4 troll
Anononononono you are forgetting you are living in a game, if it sucks then just die already.
I'll take your opinion on the FF series for what it's worth. Nothing.
Ehh...FF6 was my first FF title, when it was called FF3 for the SNES. It's one of my favorites, but 7 and 9 top it, if I rated how I liked the FF series it would probably be something like 9 -> 7 -> 6 -> 10 -> 11 (I played that MMO to death really...) -> 12 -> 8.
9 for the characters, the story up to the end, and the battle system. 7 for the battle system/equipment, it's just pretty cool, though the characters again, I kinda liked. 6 is nice, more for nostalgia trip now than for actual epic greatness, though it does have that I believe.
10 fell flat imo, blitz ball was cool, but really was all that game had to offer for me that was interesting. 11 was good for a long time, but as I mentioned, I played it to death. Not sure what it was about 12 that I didn't like, aside from how they tried to make it kinda like offline FFXI.
8 was not a FF title imo. They did far too many things new/different that just did not work at all. I did not like the characters at all, the magic draw system infuriated me being the completist that I am, and I had to have all 99 of any magic spell. Let's not forget about the monsters that leveled up at the same rate you did. I also did not like the direction they went with the CG art and the story, while still encorporating key elements of "the epic journey against fate and the end of the world" just didn't rivet me to play it in spite of everything else that displeased me about the game. Having said all of that, I can understand why you would like FF8 because of it being the first FF title you had ever played.
