Xbox 360 Doomed in Japan: Outsold by PS2

The much heralded resurgence of the Xbox 360 in Japan appears to have been as fleetingly ephemeral as the life of a mayfly; the latest sales figures show it being outsold by the lowly and supposedly obsolescent PS2, and the PS3 is outselling it by a margin of nearly 5 to 1, also beating the Wii:
PS3: 22,825
Wii: 17,276
PS2: 5,246
360: 4,849DSi: 57,401
PSP: 54,148
DS: 8,408
These are the weekly sales figures ending March 29th. The good source.
The PS3 has been outselling the Wii for over a month; however, with the release of MS “exclusive” Star Ocean 4 in February, sales briefly beat both the Wii and the PS3, reaching some 25,000. The success was however short lived…
It would appear that periodic RPG releases are the only thing keeping sales going.
It seems Sony will take the Japanese market without issue, but the crucial issue is of course whether it can achieve similar success in the US (seemingly unlikely) and Europe (where it may have a chance).

For the first couple of years PS2 still outsold PS3.
Besides we all knew 360 is really a western console.
Should teach all those fatass mainstream-hiveminded americans hanging on this site to GTFO or embrace the japanese mindset of gaming too, and not only anime and naked 2D girls.
Xbox 360 have maybe 5-6 exclusives top that makes it worthwhile to own the console, which is why I do own it. If I had to choose between my PS2 and X360, the X360 would obviously go straight down to the 9th circle of Hell and be frozen forever in Cocytus.

Why the FUCK do those jews have the right to take peoples land and bulldoze their homes? How Americans like it if Mexicans retook Texas? it was theirs not 200 years ago. The jews lived in Israel more that 1500 years ago, and they get to steal it back, the mexicans should have every right to retake Texas. They will not be allowed back into the US (since we already have enough mexicans). All traffic in and out of their land will be monitored by Mexican authorities and they will be denied proper food, water and medical care. It really is a Western Thing. And that's all right. If the Japanese don't want to play on the 360, they don't have to. It's not like Japan is Microsoft's target demographic anyway; the impact the Japanese market has on Microsoft's total revenue is undoubtedly insignificant compared to America's impact on Microsoft's pocketbook.

i think the problem is japanese's taste in games is differant from the westerner.
i agree that they have different tastes but i don't think it's a problem; with different tastes, a larger variety of games are produced. It's much better than just having a couple hundred fps games that are basically carbon copies of each other.
I agree FPS games are just clones ith people sying oh but they added this o that. I can't stand most FPS games i'm the only guy i know who has played halo but dosn't like it. I will play ressistance or metroid prime but that's about it FPS wise. Give me my god dmn rpgs whether the be WRPGs Or JRPGs i want mah over contrived plots with horrid voice acting(if theirs no japanese voicetrack of course). Also the only reason i have a 360 though i did get a Wii and PS3 first.

...well the mouse DOES make it easier/faster to point and shoot, but using the keyboard keys are a real hassle... while the gamepads have keys neatly arranged and have more comfortable reach.
It's somewhat of a tie if u ask me.
Using the keyboard with the mouse isnt a hassle at all if your a PC gamer, or know how to type lol
I always prefer playing fps w/ a keyboard and mouse. It's the best way to play. Though I haven't played in awhile so my skills are probably rusty.
I prefer keyboard/mouse for fps myself. It's really easy to get used to using the keys, saying a controller is much more comfortable has clearly not played enough games.

People who say shit like "FPS is only for PC" are ignorant. I use to play FPS on PC only as well and thought the same, the first being the original Rainbow Six, but now I have to say playing on the 360 is much better.
Now RTS - That's only for PC. Every attempt on a console has been a failure.
from what i hear halo wars has done rts pretty well but i havnt played it and kind of refuse too because it is an rts on a console and from what ive seen. doing it 100x better than the previous rts console attempts would still make it mediocre...
I personally prefer controllers because of feedback and movement. I understand mouses and keyboards are better but for FPS I never really could get into it.
As for me I prefer gamepad over keyboard cause it make me feel like I am playing a game rather than doing something with my PC, although changing a weapon is a bitch. HALO was ment to play by a gamepad, with FEAR2 adapting gampad pretty well I have no problem. Only for CRISIS I use keyboard/mouse.
For FPS it has to be mouse and keyboard, i remember playing a sniper on a ps3 (bad company)that was so bad, or when you get shot from behind your 99% of the time dead because turning and aiming fast is not possible.
this is where we need to point out console wars are compley pointless as the 360 and PS3 were out dated 4 months after they came out becoue direct x10 poped up and rederd them poinlesly outdated... Fear the PC Master Race! we who stand at the top of all Games Muhahahaha
FPS on PC is about precision shooting with the mouse and using a game pad is just strafing and spraying your enemy cos controller-stick aiming can be much tougher.
lol and japanese have learned to play an FPS game, every internet cafe I got to I see them playing CS and they own at playing it.
