North Korean Sex Slaves Sell for $450

A burgeoning sex trade in North Korean women has surfaced along the North Korean – Chinese border over the past decade.
So routine has the practice become that Chinese farmers who cannot find wives simply place orders with one of several human trafficking groups. Once the farmer specifies the desired physical appearance and age, traffickers look to fulfill the order.
North Korean women, who are eager to flee their politically oppressive and highly impoverished country, are easily convinced to undertake the risky border crossing by the traffickers who target them.
Often relatively urbane and highly educated, the women are lured by the promises of lucrative jobs in the growing Chinese economy.
Once across the border, the women are usually first gathered in the border city of Yanji and then sent to the northern city of Jilin. From there, the women are dispatched to rural villages via “brokers” to serve as the “wife” of the Chinese farmer who ordered them.
A source familiar with the practice said that “after arriving at the Chinese farmer’s house, the North Korean woman realizes that she is the victim of human trafficking, but won’t dare to escape for fear of being caught in a remote and isolated rural village where the language is different.”
The risk of deportation to North Korea, where they face probable execution, doubtless also is a factor.
The going price for a North Korean woman ranges from $446 to $1,488 according Chinese men who had purchased North Korean women, North Korean escapees and officials of the Chinese government.
In recent years, the sex trade has not just been limited to along the North Korean border, but has expanded to the inner provinces of Hebei, Anhui and Jiangsu

The Chinese government, which is aware of the practice, has done little to stem the flow of illicitly imported humans.
Korean women who have protested their predicament have found themselves either imprisoned or worse still, deported back to their homeland. That said, plenty of Chinese women find themselves in a similar situation…

Just in case some people forgot, there is a MASSIVE gender imbalance in China right now. Many adult men literally could not find a single woman anywhere.
The Chinese government really wasn't prepared to handle the side effects of the one-child policy. They have modified the laws now, but it would be years before the situation correct itself. In the mean time, there are tens of thousands men who could never find a wife anywhere near where they live.
The Chinese government didn't want this anymore than the slavery victims do. But they did accidentally create the demand. And they are trying to fix it as fast as they can. On the other hand, if China can work harder to improve North Korean living conditions through political pressure, perhaps it wouldn't have been an issue...

It's pretty sad that these korean women got mail order and did not know that they are the mail order bride. Human trafficking is still a serious problem through the world but I think North Korean will have the worse.
They don't know I find that really hard to believe, the reality to me is they are starving and even some dumb rural Chinese is better than starvation. I figure most if not some at least figure one day they may get the chance to get out or at least if they have kids they will not have their kids starving. No real way to fix this since you first have to kill of the nasty King and the rest of the gang.

If they had a choice in the matter and just wanted out the country, I wouldnt mine getting one. I would pay for the green card etc and just get a cheap wife out of it. Sure would be cheaper than the normal way... Hopefully she would know english or I would have to teach her, if later down the line it doesnt work out, give her enough to do what she wants. Life anywhere is better than under that ruler.

I think all sex slaves agree that the saddest part of their lives is the difficulties they face with different languages and locations.
