Father Kept Daughter as Incest Sex Slave for 25 Years

A man who was found to have confined his daughter from the age of nine onwards, keeping her in sexual servitude and violating her routinely for some 25 years has been arrested.
Not content with this incestuous reign, he had then groomed his son as his successor, having him create a harem of his own four daughters, aged 6-20, as well as take advantage of his sister.
The man, Michele Mongelli (64), a scrap metal merchant, first imprisoned his daughter when she was only 9, keeping her locked up in a gloomy room with no electricity for 25 years.
She was not allowed out except in her father’s company, and was denied a proper education.
He apparently only had full sexual intercourse with the girl when she turned 16, after which he slept with her regular.
At one point in 1994 she got loose, but when she reported him he claimed that she was deranged. Psychologists investigating concurred, and so she found her way back into his clutches.
He also cultivated his son Giuseppe into becoming head of his own incest clan, having him use his four daughters, aged ranging from 6 to 20, in a similar manner, and even had him have sex with his sister.
Police launched an investigation using covert surveillance which soon captured evidence of the treatment one of his eight-year-old daughters at his hands: “Dad, get your hands off me. You are a bastard, stop it.”
The chief prosecutor spoke at length about the case:
“The victims were not only subjected to sexual abuse but also psychological abuse.
I have dealt with many incest cases but this is the worst that I have seen because it lasted for 25 years and also because the main victim is 34 years old.
I don’t want to blame the psychologists who were relied on in 1994, but it’s clear that the signs were there and not acted upon at the time when clearly they should have been.
However, when acted upon again the interceptions and secret recordings proved vital in this case and they make for shocking listening as the abuse can quite clearly be heard.”
Mongelli’s family has rallied to his defence; his other daughter dismisses the charges:
“My father never laid a finger on any of us. I kiss the ground my father walks on.”
His two sons and wife are also dismissive of the charges. His wife is scathing:
“None of this is true. It’s all lies. He is a good man. My husband is in jail for something he didn’t do. He kept her inside because he was worried something might happen.
He was only looking after his children – what father would not do the same?”
Mongelli’s defence is keen to deny the claims of the prosecution:
“My client denies these allegations completely.
These accusations come from a woman who is unbalanced, confused and disturbed.
With regard to his own children he has not laid a finger on them and the eldest one who has provided the details is doing this as part of an act of rebellion against her father.
These transcripts that have been released or not evidence of sexual abuse they are merely evidence of a cultural and social degradation that existed within the family.
I have already applied for bail and I have also requested an independent psychiatric report on the man’s daughter and the four children.”
