    oh how sad our dear Pope misunderstands his flock
    this is viewed by four types of people

    Christian #1:those who are loyal to their faith wont engage in sex before marriage and will result in doing it for childbirth
    RESULT: they have no use for them, thus dont care
    ==============================
    Christian #2: if they're in the mood then they will fuck like rabbits in season
    RESULT: laugh mockingly at the popes attempt to deter them from sex and will buy them as joke and use a different brand
    ==============================
    other-religions: they respect the Christian faith but find this marketing product questionable
    RESULT: laugh at the pope behind his back lol
    ==============================
    non-religious: same as "other-religions"
    RESULT: same as "other-religions"
    ==============================
    Atheist: buy them because it's a real riot when you consider the fact that the previous pope was AGAINST the use of CONTRACEPTIONS during sex
    RESULT: EVERYONE POINT AND LAUGH AT THE NEW POPE HE'S A HYPOCRITE WHO MARKETS ONE OF THE VERY PRODUCTS THAT HIS PREDECESSOR WAS AGAINST!!!
    ==============================

    what? me? I'm Catholic but my opinion fits in with the Atheist category (I dont really like the 'new guy' in charge)

    Just think, if that guy in Brazil had use one of those when he raped that 9 year old, he'd be excommunicated (which he's not currently) by Pope BeenADick. Instead of the Pope excommunicating the girls family and doctors when she had the abortion to save her life. The doctors agreed she wouldn't be able to carry the twins to term and doing so would kill her even with a C-section. I guess he just has a soft spot for rapist, Zigots, and he can't stand those people who try to save the life of a child. Next thing you know, he'll be supporting a holocaust denier (Crap, he already did). Well atleast it's better than the 13 year old rape victim, stoned to death in Somalia for sex outside of marriage acording to Sharia Law, while the three rapist were not arrested.

    I am quite curious, why the world attacks the pope for his words. Pope is only religious leader and his orders are to be obeyed voluntarily by catholics. No one will put any person in the jail because he used a condom. What's the matter?
    Politically correct people attack the pope as strongly, as, let's say, muslims attack a man, that drew Muhammad's portrait. This international ruckus resembles a sort of religious fanatism. Like if it was attacked a holy dogma about condoms. If pope is false - why in Africa AIDS is developing so quickly? Apparently condoms alone will not solve the problem of AIDS. It is very simple: how the people, that cannot afford a piece of bread will be able to buy a condom? And sex has it's nature: if you are horny and hot, and nowhere in vicinity is an affordable condom (and the girl is the one from your dreams) - what will you do? I do not imagine, that such a person will resign, drink a glass of water and goes outside - because the lack of a condom. Assumption, that condoms will solve the AIDS problem is backed by false belief, that every man has cool head and thinks properly in any situation. Even when a beautiful girl from yesterday's hentai anime sits on his knees. Great assumtion.
    From the point of view of catholic religion, use of a condom during adultery is nothing "wrong" - at least adultery alone is a sin and commited with or without a condom is the same sin. If someone wants to live freely in this matter - s'il vous plait, the way is widely open.
    But if a wise man wants to avoid troubles and nasty diseases - should obey the words of the pope. This will GUARANTEE freedom from AIDS. Be mutually faithful or do not use sex at all. Even condoms give moderate protection against HIV - the lates rubber is quite porous, so the risk of contamination during sex is INFINITELY greater than this risk durinng sexual abstinence or mutual faithfullness. The reality is REAL and the same for all, and the truth is ONLY ONE.
    But, let the stupid do stupid things. They are to be eliminated from the society anyway - the stupidity is a sin that punishes itself automatically. Use condoms and fuck everything, as it comes. From my point of view - it is good for me. The stupidity will be, sooner or later, eliminated from my neighbourhood.
    But, the Pope attacked the dogma. He must be blamed and destroyed by political correct hunweibins in the name of the secular, political correct religion.

    It's not about obeying him or not, or the preceits of the church.

    It's about his idiocy and medial mind literaly destroying the work of thousands of voluntary people that are working extremely hard to avoid the spread of the disease.

    This pope is a fucking moron that also gives an awful image to the church, making such a display of complete ignorance in face of years and years of research.

    Also, the previous pope would never do such stupidities.

    These are reasons why people hate him for what he said.

    But HAY, I smell some of his Hitlerist youth rancid smell coming up.
    He won't really mind if millions of africans die due to his stupid words.

    And he'll remain an old stupid virgin protected by the church till he dies anyways, why should he care, right?

    Volunteers love people, bud does not love a single human. They fight about lowering the number of HIV-positive humans from 30% by 0.5%. But if someone uses a condom and leads a sxually free life, will sooner or later be ill. Or will die before gets contaminated. And this is the point of the work od volunteers. And AIDS is not curable. From the point of view of the pope, who loves people, not mankind, health of a certain man is dependent rather on his abstinence and faithfullness, than on using condoms. Two points of view. As a private person, I prefer to obey rather the pope, than use a condom and fuck everything, that moves.

    Last I checked pope words(well rules) are law for Catholics, thus making it nearly imposable to go against them. Thus why change and evolution(if you will) of mindsets and ways of thinking are hell bent not to change or accept logic and reason.

    In the end the individual will do as they please taking as much or as little as they need from religion and modern culture alike.

    Hey, I'm a Catholic as well and I don't feel the need to become a fundamentalist. The amount of ignorance I have found in this discussion is absolutely disgusting. Generalizations, hate, and self-proclaimed childish atheists everywhere it seems. Look, not all Christians are out there to try and convert everyone they see. For me it's a personal choice and something I believe in and that's that. I don't care if anyone else believes what I do or not, just try and have a little bit of respect.

    As concerned with the interplay between society and religion as I am I find this both disgusting, belittling of rational thought, backwards, and rather interesting.

    On that note, these condoms are hilarious as all Hell. Man, I miss JPII; the current Pope is far too Orthodox and fundamentalist for my preference.

    I second this - the opinions generating and supported here are getting rather one sided and quite biased - bring up Catholicism and everyone seems to stop thinking and just attack like rabid hounds. It's like a "subject allergy reaction", and one currently endorsed by main stream society. But yes, ROFL to the condom pix.

    The pontiff is the bridge between man and God in the Catholic faith. His word is Law, and directly affects what happens to a Catholic in the afterlife. A staunch Catholic would have to obey him.

    In short, agreed. Yes, it is widely known that you don't have to be a Catholic to be a Catholic. You just take what you like and what suits you and call yourself a Catholic... and well that suits many other people's beliefs, as well. Even though it is strictly mentioned not to do so... oh yes, but wait, it can just be re-written into yet another new testament.

    My seven year old nephew tells me that to have created the heavens and the Earth god must have super powers. I told him that of course he does, but asked if he knew who else had super powers? Who, he asked. Spiderman. Never seen a young boy in so much thought before, it was pretty nice.

    Sound crazy to compare? Ah, well you forget that they both come from a book. ;)

    Spiderman is a lot cooler than god. And in his books, there are lots of pictures. Flawless win for spiderman I'd say.

    But if you say 'superpower', you should as well mention 'superman', who is from another planet, that wasn't created by the catholic god, thus making superman super. Think about it, if you believe in god and him making us, than you might as well insult him for making us this weak. Why didn't he made supermans out of us, with eyebeams and stuff xD

    The pope openly said that condoms help spread disease, which is entirely untrue. People faithful to him and the church might actually start believing that, leading to a lot more STDs and AIDS getting spread around. Twisting facts like this around is incredibly dangerous no matter who you are and him being mocked like this is great justice.

    I'm not anti-religious. I'm quite religious myself but you don't see me going around dancing and fucking up the truth or shoving it down anyone's throats. I just think the pope is a fucking moron for this and he is getting what he deserves.

    Remember kids - birth control kicks ass.

    It does help spread disease in form of mental. "If condoms etc can prevent disease I can have sex as free as I want as long I use this". The root problem is on mindset of those related societies, which yet to value rational and long-term thinking.

    Still, I agree that the ban of condoms are still a wrong decision. But supporting condom is not solution either, since the problem is much more complex in issues like social, economic, and mindset.

    Yes while that was stupid of him to say, you like most people missed the whole point.

    ABSTINENCE. It's the core message. It is surprisingly a fair bit more effective at stooping unwanted pregnancies and STDs.

    Also he is not actually forcing anything down anyone throats. He is voicing an opinion for his flock (Cathoics). You don't have to listen.

    While I agree that contraception is a good thing, it would be nice to see abstinence practiced a little more often.

    Abstinence won't fucking work either. People are going to screw whether you want them to or not so if they're going to they should at least know what options they have (and not being told lies about how they function). It's in our nature as humans to be horny bastards; we shouldn't lock it up at all.

    Because then this happens.

    Teaching abstinence only causes rapes. I'm pretty sure of that, though the relevant studies haven't been done. Teaching facts instead of "what the invisible pixie in the sky told me" about condom use reduces both unwanted pregnancies and the spread of diseases. This bit IS backed up by studies.

    Newsflash: Part of being a staunch Catholic is wanting every human alive to also be Catholic. Also, by your reasoning I also should ignore the mad imam in the next town telling his flock to massacre the unbelievers, because I'm not Muslim.
