Fans may revile the Hollywood version of Dragonball, but it is far from the first attempt to adapt the manga; you can compare Hollywood’s live action versions from Korea and Taiwan below.
First, the Korean version:
The Taiwanese version:
Via a Black Leaf.
What a fine pedigree Dragonball Evolution enjoys.
The difficult question of evaluating the merits of these films, as well as those of the Hollywood version, is best left to you.

Taiwanese!!
I can see an oldie Harry Potter in photo 5 of the taiwanese version xDDD
Korean's and Taiwan's versions are an insult for Dragon Ball and good cinema :/
So what then is Hollywood's version?
"good cinema"
The taiwanese version wins my money because I love picture number 12. A Dragon Ball with parrots is fine too!
i could stand to watch the taiwanese one. it looks like it might at least keep the same goofy atmosphere as the anime. i've been trying to avoid watching the dragonball evolution movie, and doing a good job at it. eventually i'll get curious and just suffer through it while noting all the obvious differences in character background and such.
both Korean and Taiwanese movie version made during the 80s.There's no software(except Bulma's) available during that time to produce big bang explosions. It's just stuntmen crazily running around into fires and explosions.
not fair, korean and taiwan version is too old to compare with holywood version even though korean and taiwan version sucks BIG time (and yes i watched them, dont ask me how i get them)... maybe i should just w watch the holywood version just to make it even...
what's with the korean version goku's nose, o_O
lot of those db movies pics (in CHINESE)
KOREA ver.

TAIWAN ver.

While I haven't seen the Hollywood version (I know it will be bad, but I will still laugh the entire time just like I did with the new Street Fighter movie) Hollywood had it's reasons for changing up the storyline, I don't nessacarily agree with it but it had to be done to make things more realistic. Sure these movies above are great but yet again you laugh through the entire thing because Dragonball can't be done realistically in live action.
From what I have seen of the Vietnamese version, it can be done, it's just they didn't have the budget for the effects of it's time even, let alone the bleeding edge in the effects of today.
so much bullshiit
korea was the worst
lol but they all make me laugh
the reason that hollywood's is the worst effort is because they tried to make it modern and they changed too much stuff. i can see why, because a lot of the things in dragonball might be hard to replicate in RL. but it turned out like half dragonball, and half random futuristic/modern aspects
Hollywood's OF COURSE! LOL!
i feel that after watching dragonball evolution, the screencaps from BOTH other versions look better. needs moar links to torrents.
I've seen the Taiwan's ver. That's horrible..
I've never knew there was Korea's dragon ball movie. I just watch Taiwan's ver
LOL, I remember watching Taiwanese version. I LOL'd hard then (seeing the rope while "flying", lol). Korean v. looks pretty amusing too (though I didn't watch it). To sum up, well, Taiwanese version was fun to watch, while Hollywood's was "facepalm".
(voted "for" Hollywood's)
my eyes they burn!!!
Suddenly, Dragonball Evolution doesn't seem so bad.
But this more faithful to the manga.
Yeah, well, at least those didn't make Goku some sort of misfit student.
i relate to him better that way, apparently.
These versions look a whole lot better than Hollywood's.
Smells like AWESOME! :P
Korean version looks like fun... at least more fun than I'll probably have with Hollywood version, if I ever watch it that is.
master roshi epic win
roshi pic, taiwanese pic 17. save'd
Despite the fact those movies are probably 20 years old and are made with 1/20th the budget, IMO they still look better and more entertaining than the Hollywood one.
I've seen the taiwanese version, and believe me, it's a zillion times better than hollywood's. 'though that's not that hard...
LOL, wow and WTF at the Korean DB...
Anyone know where I can find out more about this? Maybe even find some clips?
i didnt know micheal jackson played goku, and what was he doing in taiwan...
Real life adaptations of Dragon Ball sucks, stick with the manga, nuff said
Somehow, these versions are STILL closer to the original than the Hollywood movie ever got.
The... FUCK?!?!?
What the fuck did I just read~
lol this is so damn funny but my childhood is ruined
can think that the korean can 2 make or come up to this level at which they have made his move especially gokus hairstyle.
I've watched the Taiwanese ver. before, I still have the CDs of it. I like that one, and Bulma's actress was beautiful too. The dancing between her and Roshi in that movie was...
The blue cat guy with the cig in its mouth...reminds me of Ratty. You know who im talkin bout right?
i like how the low-budget Korean and Taiwanese flicks are still infinitely more awesome than that multi-million dollar Hollywood turkey. why? because you can actually tell they're Dragonball movies!! big ups are in order to Korea and Taiwan for their faithful reproductions of the story and characters, despite both movies easily being over 10 years old.
LMFAO @ Korean Goku's hair. *lol* I pick the Korean ver. although it knew it was epic fail beforehand whereas Hollywood ver. knew and make itself a perpetual multi-million dollar punchline for years to come.
LOL factors here~
Y post this shit news again?? for e-organsm?? Damn u.
korean's bulma was cute though
looks like koharu kusumi
well its much better than the US made DBE considering that these movies were made in the 80s, surely there is lack of technology. master roshi looks like the one in manga lol! korean goku looks ok but whats with his nose? lol...again if these guys where given a chance to recreate dbz now i think they'll get it 100%
i wonder if anyone can share the dragon ball the korean version on net through torrent. with english subs if possible
also the casting of the hollywood dragon ball, lacks the characters from the manga comics, and its content of the story. by huge alot.
humans making the dragon ball LOL!
Mmmmmmmm nothing beats the taste of a womens left breast in the morning.

Both the Korean & Taiwanese version of Dragonball is infinitely times better than the Failwood's fail attempt at "Dragonball"
