No it's the fan artist fault. They created a lot cool pictures of Asuka than Rei in the last years making her look a lot better than she really is. I was always a Rei fan and even i almost change opinion about Asuka after all those cool pics and doujins. Then i saw Evangelion again and came to my senses.
Lot's of time has passed since most saw Evangelion and people forget what an annoying little bitch she was. She never shut the hell up.
I will go for my quiet unemotional Rei anytime. I hate noisy women.

I completely agree with you, Anonymous. Asuka is cute on a lot of that artwork, but mainly because she is quiet. When I watched the show in 96, recently and all the other times inbetween, she always annoyed the shit out of me, so I don't see what's so "likeable" about her character.

I remeber when Eva first came out, Rei was the more popular one. I guess the current trend of tsunderes in anime has revived Asuka's popularity.

These nude filters are interesting in a technical way, but I think the originals are almost always sexier. What's hidden can be more alluring than what's out in plain view. Sometimes less is more.

And Geerie, I'm a statistic like you, I guess. Asuka ftw, but Rei's swimsuit does have a slight edge.
