Korean Pimp Sells Males to Japan’s Sex Trade

The Seoul Metropolitan Police have arrested a 41-year-old homosexual pimp, only identified as Park, for arranging the transport of dozens of Korean homosexuals and transgendered individuals into Yokohama’s red-light district.
Park is suspected of having 30 Korean male prostitutes work at brothels in Japan since January 2007 and taking a total of 500 million won ($330,000) from them in “brokerage” fees.
The 30 men had sex with Japanese men for ¥15,000 to ¥20,000. Besides the brokerage, Park took ¥80,000 from each of them per month for protection money that was paid to the local Yakuza.
Park recruited the men through online gay communities, saying that they could make big money in a short time in Japan’s male sex trade. Many of the transgendered individuals accepted Park’s offer in order to amass money to have a sex change operation.
According to police, Park himself is gay with HIV, and had sex with some of the prostitutes for whom he arranged the sex trade.
Police are hunting other sex trade groups similar to the one used by Park, and are conducting a joint investigation with Japanese police and Interpol into the connection between such brokers and the Yakuza.

For historical reasons, ethnic Koreans actually make up a significant proportion of the Yakuza’s ranks in Japan, so the connection is not unsurprising.
Additionally, both Japan and Korea have long histories of exporting their young ladies for the sake of prostitution, so in that sense this is nothing new…

HIV did come from monkeys,but it probably didn't spread to humans through sexual contact. In Africa, where HIV is said to be originated from, they slaughter and eat monkeys. Eating poorly cooked monkey meat or coming in contact with monkey blood is what likely caused it.

I've heard that HIV was transferred to humans from chimps by scientists in Africa that didn't know it was in the vaccines they were making for Polio. The only reason I'm not rambling on about this right now is I know very little about this particular subject...
I'm sorry then. I don't know where you're from or what age you are, but this just goes to show sex education courses (and none of that abstinence only garbage) really need to be taught so everyone knows facts.
And since I'm being serious, the most likely case is by blood to blood transmission from chimpanzee to human, probably from a chimp bite or chimp blood spilling on an open wound of a human.
Transmission could have occurred from oral intake of chimp blood, but that's less likely because oral transmission of HIV isn't as high a probability compared to blood to blood or other forms of sex. Though the presence of mouth sores would increases likelihood of transmission.

@Tommy: I haven't read about the history of HIV in a while, but the consensus is near certain that it started in Africa. If I remember correctly, the first cases linked back to people who've been there and I'm pretty sure that cases ballooned in those areas before Asia. And I think the chimp precursor was first noticed there.
But I guess that's not to say maybe there wasn't enough early HIV testing in Asia, or China specifically, to determine if it started there. You can always read more about it on informative sites like cdc.gov and other educational sites.

The gay men are the main way that STDs spread through most human cultures throughout history. Gay or bi-men that also "live the straight life" are the usual crossover points back to hetero culture.
If all gays were killed, STDs would spread much slower. This is thought to be the main reason that men being gay is actually "bad" in many cultures, and that this basic "society protection" habit was then enshrined in various religions with appropriate reasons for the punishment or removal of gay men.

Yep, the mentality is definitely there (to all the butthurt Koreans: other countries, including the one I live in, have bad habits of their own that aren't any better). South Korea even recruited comfort women to serve American troops during the Korean war and UN troops afterwards (rumors are they still do) - while having outlawed prostitution at the same time. Even the government is a bunch of pimps.

Reminds me of a K-drama that was placed in WWII era/invasion era Korea where Korean gangs and Japanese Gangs fought for territory in the peninsula. Yakuza ended up taking over and becoming police authority till the A-bombs were dropped on the islands after which they retreated.
One of the last scenes were pretty memorable, yakuza leader puts a gun to his chin saluting the flag that's framed on his office wall and dies just as the korean gang leader runs in to stop him.
