Korea, Kingdom of Plastic Surgery

As you can see from the detailed comparison below, Korea’s reputation for being a nation whose womenfolk have embraced plastic surgery to an unprecedented degree is far from undeserved.
There are some rather impressive examples of surgical enhancement on display, with results which put to shame some of the efforts of Japanese idols…
Of course, another contributing factor must the application of Photoshop to the later professionally taken pictures, though this can only account for so much.

Plastic surgery done properly is simply amazing(of course I also seen many horrible surgery), sometimes a little make up can totally change a person's look as well.
We need more professional make up artists and plastic surgeon, make the world pretty again.
Then what would be the point of being born pretty? Humans are not equal, simple as that.
They don't need to be equal, they just need to be pretty ;).
What would be the point? To save the surgery money that is ^^.
얍실하게 생긴걸 좋아함
Exactly, humans aren't born equal. The rich ones become pretty through plastic surgery. Or, depending on how good it turns out, they just turn into Micheal Jackson.
Well Micheal Jackson was actually pretty good looking without the surgery but with the emotional abuse from his father caused him to want to change his face. but sadly during the time he did his first plastic surgery the technique was still new.
What an profoundly stupid thing to say, "point to being pretty???". Point implies effort and purpose, whereas, beauty is *for the most part* determined by genetics.
Humans are not equal? What exactly is your point? If people want to change their appearance, what business is that of yours?
This would be like saying, "What would be the point of playing soccer if everybody in the world was good at soccer?" Uhhh.......
Regardless of what you think, beauty isn't a competition.
you'd be surprised...
Antagonist View... but...
If everyone is pretty, there would be much less people to look down on. Look at a teenager's normal middle school life. They are going through what they believe to be the worse thing in the world. Looking at an ugly person, they can go "Least I don't look like him/her" and cheer up a bit.
Of course not a good reason in the slightest, its a reason regardless.
What do you mean, "Again"?
Koreans sure are good, especially with the last picture.
The last picture remind me of some self-proclaim glorious leader far up north of Seoul.
Don't see why that is a problem, if that is the point being made. Of course, there are wrong reasons to get plastic surgery, but if they are simply doing it for themselves, more power to them.
But man, that must be as lucrative of a business there as in California, you'd make a killing.
Nowhere in the piece was the practice condemned or condoned.

Plastic girls are rubbish, do not want. natural for me.
Same lawl.
How will you be able to tell the difference?
Scars. You have to look for them awfully well nowadays. As technology has made scars almost completely unnoticeable.
Anyways, I am of the belief that if you are comfortable in your own skin, you are A-O.K. with me. If you feel you need to cut your face to even fit in society, you are still O.K., It's just I will have lost a bit of vigor that your appearance isn't representative of what your actual genetic code will be.
Your kids will still be ugly; no amount of plastic surgery can alter that.
The fact that people have to resort to cutting their own face is kind of indicative of what the human race as a whole will do to succeed.
"Your kids will still be ugly; no amount of plastic surgery can alter that."
I don't think this applies universally. My neighbors' daughter is drop dead gorgeous, while her parents are... well let's just say they're not. The point I'm trying to make is that the ability to produce pretty offspring isn't necessarily related to how beautiful the parents are.
I very much agree with your last paragraph, though I don't think that this must inherently be a bad thing.
>> while her parents are… well let’s just say they’re not
how's the mailman lookin' ?
Our mail"man" is female, actually...
Actually your dead gorgeous neighbor has her parents genetic code, so maybe in a few years she's gonna turn ugly... See the aging idols entry.
you know what they say two ugly people make a good looking kid XD
Enjoy your viginity.
Well, well.. why do I get the feeling that Sankakucomplex.com is more and more headed towards an Anti-Korean website that hails Japan as the greatest place on earth?
Why not change the name and put the site up as "yasukunicomplex.com"?
Yeah, because Artefact never posted anything worse than this about Japan.
Before the trolls are unleashed, that was sarcasm.
Really, theirs barely any articles about Korea anything on sancom.
Yes.
It's pretty telling that the Korean lurkers never bother to click the dozens and dozens of "lolJapan" or "lolChina" posts.
A couple of "lolKorea" posts gets shoved into the mix and suddenly they call anti-Korean bias.
Talk about hypocrisy.
Rubbish.
You might want to open your eyes and consider that a significant proportion of the stories here deal with bizarre Japanese crimes and maniacal subcultures, none of which are exactly likely to paint Japan in a favourable light.
Just how many posts here are there that "hail Japan as the greatest place on earth"? None I think.
Just Wondering how South Korea is “Kingdom of Plastic Surgery” when according to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Korea is ranked 27th for plastic surgery per capita. 19 out of every 100,000 people. USA is ranked 19th (30 per 100,000 people). Japan is ranked 18th (33 per 100,000 people).
yeah Japan is the GREATEST nation in the earth no, the universe. In fact, putting it into words does not do its greatness any justice at all. Just submit to their greatness. The Koreans (GOOKS) ARE LIARS and less then human beneath pigs no ants. Anyone who disagrees should DIE a horrible death.
the hells wrong with you?
Yea what IS wrong with you? I love Korea just as much as Japan and they BOTH have faults, just like any other country. 시끄러워!
Actually, you'll start to see more Korean-based articles as I plan to add it as an area of coverage. So you'll begin to see Japan and Korea in equally "bad" lights.
Btw, I agree with Artefact in that the bizarre stories about Japan doesn't exactly burnish its image, and Sankaku has far more coverage of Japan than any other country.
Yeah... Negative coverage... All in the name of more pageviews... :(
Ever watched the evening news?
Yes. and no.
I never take it as indicative of the actual world/times.
I see your stories in the same light. It's always the uncommon or unusual that gets the most attention; simply because it's something that is seldom seen or heard. No one would read an article dealing with computers being able to surf the web; it's something that happens everyday, it's common, it's the way news works.
Quite so.
Guess I should stop trolling...
go read the previous 210+ pages of achieve, report back when you do
I like girl in red...
last pic looks like the north korean leader.. who was it again?
Mao Zedong. :P
Kim Ill.
So North Korea's plot to take over the world involved cute traps???
ROFL!!!! ^^
Now that you mention it... let's just hope that he doesn't get into plastic surgery. I don't want to see the results.
