Restaurant Serves Food From Toilets

At the Modern Toilet, a popular Taiwanese restaurant chain, currently expanding into China and other parts of Asia, patrons pay for the privilege of eating curry, pasta and chicken served from plates bearing more than a passing resemblance to toilets.
Drinks come in cups shaped like mini urinals. Better yet, the shaved ice desserts come on dishes shaped liked squat toilets with names like “diarrhea with dried droppings” (chocolate), “bloody poop” (strawberry) and “green dysentery” (kiwi).
The Chinese can take this, theorized one enthusiastic diner, because they are more nonchalant about bodily functions, such as burping, breaking wind, or even going to the bathroom — an act performed squatting sans doors in some parts of China.
Another patron admitted that “it’s a little gross when you see other people eat, but when you’re eating, you don’t notice it, because you’re hungry and the aroma is appetizing.”
Modern Toilet owner Wang Zi-wei, 29, an ex-banker, got his idea from the Japanese robot cartoon character Jichiwawa, who loves to play with excrement and swirl it on a stick.
Inspired by that charming image, Wang began selling chocolate ice cream swirls on paper squat toilets. Customers loved them and wanted more edible excretion experiences, so he opened Modern Toilet in 2004.

Haha I think it would be pretty amusing for someone to ask you 'What you ate for lunch?' who knew nothing of this place. Only for you to reply 'Bloody Poop' and if they ask where, you can say 'The Modern Toilet' or 'A Small Toilet Bowl'.
Almost forgot. If they asked why, you can really say 'It tastes like strawberries!'.
I'll have to try it out next time I go back to China.

it's hilarious and the food is...just food
the desserts are....well....taste nice but they do look like fecal matter

Well it definitely sound better than Ayam Penyet!! (squashed chicken in Malay) Never tried eating out of a toilet before, so trying this out should be fun.... XD

We've got one in Hong Kong :) in Mong Kok across from Langham Place. I haven't had such a laugh from eating for a while. The food is actually pretty good. If you ever go, try the ice cream and desserts.
My friend used to go over their to eat with his friends in Taiwan. They mentioned that the food is pretty good over there. I never got a chance to try it when I went back to Taiwan even though I heard of it before coming over.

I don't know how that's supposed to make things you eat of that more appetizing.
The restourant have been running for a quite long time already actually, I have tried it myself personally.
Just don't surprised you have a restourant serving food on operating table as well...., because it exist.
Theres a store open in Hong Kong, the food they serve is actually pretty good quality.
My advice is to go for the desert. the other foods are quite overpriced.
So this restaurant serves shit? I don't seem to understand :p
