A T-shirt bearing the likeness of Kurugaya Yuiko,of Key visual novel Little Busters, has just been auctioned off for an impressive ¥1,300,000, in what must be one of the most expensive pieces of otaku fashion in recent memory.
Naturally, it is signed by Hinoue Itaru, of Clannad character design fame. And of course it is moderately risque.
The T-shirts were apparently being given away as a cheap prize at the Key tenth anniversary event…

The "Home" T-shirt John Lennon wore during many of his concerts in the early 1970s. Richard Ross, owner of Home restaurant in New York (which shut down in the late 1980s), gave Lennon the shirt because he was a frequent patron. The image of Lennon in the shirt has become so well known that Julien Auctions, a concert memorabilia auction house based in Los Angeles, sold the original for $16,400 three years ago.
An item like the "My Adidas" Run-D.M.C. T-shirt, a collaboration between the sportswear company and hip-hop group, is one of those rare and valuable pieces. It was made for promotional purposes for a show in the early 1980s, and only 30 exist. The $13,000 shirt has both the Run-D.M.C. and the Adidas logos placed next to each other in the front, with an original joint logo on the back.
In 1972, the Rolling Stones created 12 promotional tops for their Goats Head Soup tour. These were made for members of the band and key people in its entourage. Seth Weiser, co-owner of What Comes Around Goes Around, a vintage clothing store in New York, has two in his private collection. He is selling one for $10,000.

Some people really do spend large amount of money just to satisfy there urge of collecting things. It doesn't matter what genre, its all about collecting. I for one collects PS1, PS2, PSP, PC, and PS3 games. Doesn't matter if I like the game, or would I even play it, I just like collecting them.
