A T-shirt bearing the likeness of Kurugaya Yuiko,of Key visual novel Little Busters, has just been auctioned off for an impressive ¥1,300,000, in what must be one of the most expensive pieces of otaku fashion in recent memory.
Naturally, it is signed by Hinoue Itaru, of Clannad character design fame. And of course it is moderately risque.
The T-shirts were apparently being given away as a cheap prize at the Key tenth anniversary event…
Via New Akiba.
What might the owner have got for a Kudo T-shirt? We can but wonder.
Maybe they’re trying to spend their way out of the depression? Might work to jump-start the economy and get the money circulating again. It’s just that people are too cheap and afraid to spend.
Isn’t Japan in a terrible recession? like they’re half way there to a full on depression. Who has this kind of money to spend?
Nice shirt.
But 13k… that’s a ‘bit’ too much for me. Looks like I have to stick with the 20$ mass production shirts. >:
omg, I would love to wear that
Note that the character art itself is directly drawn on the T-shirt by the original author, there’s no “cheaper copy without autograph”
